As the game has been released as of yesterday (and most stores getting it within the next 24 hours), where else to discuss the game.
First off, what system are you playing it on, and what is your ID (either gamertag or psn name)
I've heard mixed things about this game, the first game was plagued with multiplayer boring/repetitive-ness (casino vault/FAMAS anyone?) and once Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 came along this game seemed to just seem slow.
The graphics are apparently the same, not much of an improvement anyway, but graphically the game is not the weak point. Most people play this for multiplayer somehow, whether it be co-op or shoot the other player type. There is an addition to the sprint button (LB on XBOX, most likely L1 on PS3), so getting away from grenades and heavy fire should be better.
Lets hope this game is just all around a better experience online this time around.
I'll be playing it on 360 and my gamertag is JnJosh! Join me?
PS precidio and import/export are on multiplayer! yay

I'm gonna pick it up when it becomes available, however I don't see it online at futureshop or bestbuy so I assume it's not out in Canada yet?
I'll be playing it on 360.

It seems the EB Games in Kingston received some copies - just enough to cover their pre-orders. I've scoured the rest of the City but no one else seems to have received it yet.
I'm somewhat disappointed that they've reduced the number of co-op story mode players from 4 to 2. I'm not sure if the addition of AI teammates will make up for it. That was a really nice surprise from the last version.
From what I hear it's quite a bit like the original - so much so that it's more like an expansion than a true sequel. Still, I loved the first one so we'll see.

Yeah they took somethings out and added some features...
like 4 player co-op stripped down to 2 in this one, and only the "host" can issue commands to the other AI players- so if the host dies, 2nd player can't send commands until host respawns
Although cutscenes work with multiplayer now..maybe i'll check it out, i missed the first one but this'll be a pre/sequel to the first right?

I played the original on the PC. PC req. are pretty heavy though, but that could be just me and my 512MB 7600 GS. (Can you overclock this vid card??)
What they need to do is use real world Vegas locations instead of made up ones.

Been checking BestBuys website all day today to see if my local store received stock but nothing yet, looks like it'll be in tomorrow or the 20th...

Never played the first one but heard it was great so that's why I'm buying it. Plus I'm bored as hell of COD4.

So those playing it must be playing pirated copies?
I played on a friend's 360 who got the PAL version on Sunday.
Shipped date is today for ebgames.com.

the eb games stores here in edmonton got just enough to cover the pre-orders.... 2 of them got 2 extra copies which sold instantly.... they are saying that ubisoft has shorted eb games at least 15 000 copies nationwide.... no other gaming store here has any in yet...

Those maps do look good, especially Creek and Broadcast.

played thru the first 4 levels on single player. the game is very awesome. it seems more fast paced than the first. its very addictive, i havent wanted to stop playing. the graphics are very similar to the first. so far, the game differs from the first as most levels are not within a casino. other than that everything feels the same. if you liked the first one, you will definitely enjoy this one. the graphics seem like a big step down from COD4 and Halo3, but the game play certainly makes up for it

Got mine by pre-ordering. There were about 20 people who pre-ordered from EB in East Hamilton, but they only got 10 copies. I was #7 on the list. :cheesygri A co-worker went to EB (not sure where) and they had ~40 copies available to the public.
The game definately rocks. I love the fact you can rank up while in Single Player. Your XP (actual and required for next rank) are always displayed at the bottom of the screen, and like COD4, you have the ability to rank up in the middle of a match instead of waiting until the end. Every kill shows you the XP earned and why (ie. kill from distance, kill using explosives, kill from behind) so that you can easily determine which method earns you the most XP.

They had a lot of copies at EB South Common (where I traded the BBV PS2 games) and even more copies at EB Erin Mills Town Centre (where my friend traded his BBV PS2 games). For all of you looking for this game check these locations out.

After seeing the horrible RSLV graphics on the PS3, I'll probably be steering clear of this one.....

The single and multiplayer are both better, graphic wise, meh, it definitly has to use an updated engine for the next game as this one should be suffice.
you get two free maps, streets and comcast event with it!
Password for comcast event map in extras is "comcast faster"
and to get streets you sign up with ubisoft from the extras as well, streets is under 100mb!
grenade throwing still is a bit unrealistic but i'm having a blast

I can't wait to play Vegas 2 I played the hell outta Vegas 1 it was a ton of fun! So I don't care that its basically an expansion pack I can't wait.
I really love the whole cover system, it kicks the crap out of every other cover system so far. I haven't found a cover system quite a refined as the one in Vegas yet.

So Rainbox Six Vegas (the first one) is $20 at BB.
After playing COD4 though, is RSV still a good play? The reviews mention the short SP, and I worry that most people online will have switched to the sequel.
Thoughts?

The single player for Vegas 1 is okay, but there are two really annoying parts of the game where you basically have to not only survive a wave of enemies, but protect your guy while doing it.
There's a glitch in Vegas 2 where you can get unlimited XP.

Leave your system on for... well, a lot of hours and rank up to Elite. If you do it automatically, you can probably get 15k XP an hour, maybe more.
If you do it manually, you can probably get 3k per 5 minutes.
