COD4 on the PS3 Hacked??

You be the judge but it seems there is some code floating around that allows you to hack the game for online play.

From what I've heard it's been hacked. A friend of mine on an IRC channel spammed a bunch of code for it and described it briefly. I've never played COD4 before so I didn't really pay that much attention though.

Edit: Looking back at the log now it's apparently accomplished by editing your ps3 game save.

I've read that the PS3 version is hackable. Many people have stated that they've had Aimbots and glitch-like hacks exploited in the game. Although these are only statements, none have surfaced on the 360 version of the game. At least from my experience.

they are much more common on teh 360 actually, as for the PS3 i think the update today will fix it partially but who knows

Seems like this is true and it needs to be fixed. Something like this will hurt the game big time. The reason I stopped playing Counter Strike back in the day because of sh*t like this and prefer console gaming over PC to avoid this kind of thing.

The method of doing this is very simple so you will see a lot of 'cool hackers' start to use it. It is not much harder than people changing the game file to make their names different colors and I'm sure if you play COD4 online frequently you see how many of those people there are. Now imagine that number of idiots or more start using a MAJOR hack like aimbot, wall hack, etc. (unlike the color one which is harmless, but still stupid). This will ruin the game if it is not fixed.

They should ban every person that edits game files for life. I don't understand what the fun is in hacking anyways.

Can you show me a source or at least even a blog about the 360 version being hacked let alone having the problem more common? So far people on this thread have showed sources even videos that the ps3 version is hackable.

Not that i want to prove you wrong but i was just concerned if the people I've been playing latetly are legit.

I was over at game trailers reading about it, ill see if i can find some direct links for sure. Either way it just sucks, first video i saw was of a guy who was invincible on a 360 version of the game, gots tonnes of kills

I did some more reading and it looks like it has really appeared more and more on the PS3 now. Which really sucks. If i saw a guy doing it I would leave the game asap

dont know yet, the patch is all of 1 hour old. we will know in a day or 2 im sure

The guy that was talking about the hack on our IRC channel just said the patch took care of it, so it's probably nothing to worry about.

yeah, I would like to know too. And I saw that too, somewhere about someone saying something about the hacking of the 360 ;)
