Visit a heath care professional. Probably shouldn't say that, my wife is one, but its a fact from my experience. I got whopping cough after a visit to my doctors office five years ago, and now I have a cold from taking my kid to the Health Unit for tests. Everyone workng at the clinic was hacking away, and I and my daughter end up locked in a booth with them coughing all over us. I usually avoid going to any heath care provider in the winter.

There's some truth in what you're saying. Doctor's receptionists always look ill. The hot ones never stick around.
Do the Asian way, wear a mouth shield (or do people call it a face mask?)

On the bright side, this has been the healthiest winter I've had in at least ten years. First cold I've had. Been using lots of hand sanitizer and somewhat regular doses of vitamin D. And saying away from health care professionals (until last week).

Washing your hands frequently will minimize your chances of getting sick significantly. I always use hand sanitizer when entering and leaving the hospital or any other place where people and germs congregate.

I have a bottle of purell in the car (big pump bottle) and another bottle at work at my desk and I also keep Isopropyle Alcohol 99% in various places like my desk at home.

It's really impressive how the doctors never contract any of this crap.

Okay, but most of the folks are hacking their lungs out in the waiting room ... how do you protect against airbourne germs.

upon graduation from med school...all docs get immunized with an elixir that renders them effectively guaranteed NEVER to get sick.

isn't elixir that life potion in FF7? lolElixir = full mp/hp restore for one character. Dates back to earlier versions of Final Fantasy (I think FFII or something).

I played football with a med school student one time on a univeristy flag football team. When it started raining (and it was a cold autumn day also), the dude put a sweater on and opened an umbrella. I think doctors are really cautious about getting sick. It only makes sense because so people rely on them for help. Even one sick doctor would put a large burden on the community .

lol win
another sure way to get sick is take the TTC and become part of the rush hour traffic
there's nothing like getting packed and stuffed into an overcrowded bus or subway train with another hundred people that are potentially ill

Well if its airborne you can't do **** about it but if its on surfaces and you touch it... then wash or clean your hands.
