Has anyone tried this? For 5 bucks, it may be worth it to check my email every so often.
Sorta frustrating that points can only be purchased in increments of 1000, and the only titles available for download for 500 are NES games. This means I can't just purchase the net, and if I wanted to add a SNES game, I'd need to purchase 2000 points.
Anyone know if points cards can be shared?

It works surprisingly fine (I've post on RFD from my Wii before :cheesygri ), not perfect but I got mine as a free download since it was a launch unit. Personally I would not pay for it until it has USB keyboard support and better flash. At the moment it's one of the easier ways to show a youtube video to a room full of people.

I got the browser when it was free last year. Never used it at all after the first week. Maybe if it had a keyboard. Even then, I don't think I'd spend more money on it.

The browser is handy, especially when paired up with something like Orb running on your PC.
You can use your Wii as a bit of a media centre this way (play the mp3s on your computer through your Wii via the browser, look at photgraphs, etc.)
Do a search on cnet.com for Orb and Wii and it has a nice tutorial on how to set it all up to work well together.

The browser does have usb support. It was added in the Nov. update if I remember correctly. It just doesn't support bluetooth keyboards(unless you use the usb dongle then it should work fine). I've a cordless logitech that works fine with the browser but I mainly use it for quick searches.
If you are tempted to get the browser go for the wii points cards at toysrus... they've had them for $15 at times. Plus they will be releasing some wiiware titles soon to help you spend some more points.

I don't use it because it is too blurry compared to my PS3 browser at 1080p.

It also takes a long time to start up. I don't know if they've sped it up yet. Like many others, I tried it for about a week and then the novelty wore off.
If we got the browser for free, do we get upgrades for free?

I updated mine, and it didn't cost any points. I got it for free.
