I just got some cheap ones off of monoprice, I don't have the cash for the official ones yet. The picture is a bit blurry, and I don't know if this is considered ghosting, but you can basically see a "double image", and it really stands out in the text for COD4. It'll say "Create a Class", and then after the word it will say "ass" in little shadowy letters. Is this the cables problem? Anyone have experience with the official M$ ones and if they do this?

Did you try other games to see if they do this? I have the official ones and the images look fantastic. A friend of mine got 3rd party ones off China and they're so much lighter and feels "cheap."

I've yet to check Halo 3, but when it says "Achievement Unlocked" or "11 Friends Online" it does it as well. It's not as noticeable on the characters in game, but it's definitely still there.

You can do 1080p with component, VGA, or HDMI for games, and with VGA or HDMI for movies.

How do I do that? It only lets me change resolution, widescreen or standard and reference levels.

Edit- Nevermind I got it. The ghosting seems to have reduced when I set it to 1280x768.

i got madcatz vga cable. I've got the same problems. After doing intense research i've come to the conclusion that its the cable.

DOnt stress. Just get the official one.

you can mess around with the resolutions, try different games, and turning your tv on and off. But it won't change anything.

i guess you could say, you wasted your ammo on the knock off VGA cable.

Have the official cable, and COD4 looks stunning.

No ghosting whatsoever. Running it at 1280X1024 resolution.

You can do up to 1080p on VGA, provided that your TV/monitor supports it.

No, thats wrong. Like I said, the box says 720p only. And so does this review seen here:

Scroll down for the table, you'll see what i'm talking about.

That article is from 2005 when the 360 did not support 1080p.

Very true. My current TV is only 720p but I've hooked the 360 up on a 1080p TV via VGA and was able to output at 1080p. The packaging on the VGA cable is old and pre-PS3 when Sony made a big deal out of 1080p even if their games are rendering internally at 720p :D

I can vouch for the vga cable doing 1080p. It was able to output that onto my tv. That being said, i noticed on other peoples tv's, that alot of vga ports on different tv's don't support 1080p. So even the 360 does, its possible your tv won't.

VGA cables output games and HD-DVDs on 1080p on my Samsung 56'' LED DLP.
