I know it's hard to tell what's going on by just describing in words, but I'm gonna give it a shot anyway.
Just after the snow storm last week, my car started to run quite a bit louder than usual. At first I thought the engine was running low on oil since it burns oil regularly anyway. I checked and it wasn't that low. I've ran it at lower level before and it wasn't nearly as loud.
The sound is a low rumble that starts at around 40kph and gets louder as I drive faster, sounding almost like an exhaust pipe hole, but the noise volume seems like is relative to vehicle speed rather than engine speed. Therefore I kind of ruled out exhaust problem.
Now I'm thinking possible transmission or belt problem, but dunno where to start looking. The car still drives pretty smooth though. It's just loud.
I'll prob bring it to a mechanic soon but kinda busy lately so just want to have an idea now of how bad it could be if possible.
Thanks!
