The situation:
-Ownership of car is in my bro's name.
-Insurance; he is primary, sister is 2nd, I'm 3rd
-he will be moving to BC for 8mths and is buy a beater to get around for those 8mths
-in order to properly get plates/insurance in BC he needs to change/convert his Ontario driver license to BC one

Question:
-How does this affect the ownership/insurance of his current vehicle as we wish to use the car while he's gone?
-Will ownership need to be transferred to one of us? (sister or myself)

Clearly he will no longer be the primary driver so, that in itself is a problem.
He will have to at the very least inform his insurance company he no longer lives here and does not have Ontario license.
There may be circumstances in BC that will allow him to temporarily own and drive a car.

He is not changing residences as this is still is listed permanent address. He is only moving to BC temporarily (8months).

So is there anything where he can switch over his drivers license w/o having to change ownership?? As we don't want to pay any taxes when transferring the car.
