Hello,
I have a 2007 chrysler seabring touring edition with normal halogen headlights that has 30000km on it. So it is still under warranty.
Is it possible to change the headlights to HID without damaging the warranty or will changing HID void the warranty?
Also how much does it cost to change HID light, my friend garage quoted me 150 dollars for the HID kit from japan and 100-130 dollars for labour
Thank you for all your help and advice

sounds about right, although you could shop around and get cheaper for labor..
Regarding install, mostly dealer will not mind if you do a clean install, IE: wires well hidden, no wires exposed etc.
If anything, they con only void your headlight warrenty, and maybe electricals, if they are being @ssholes, then just goto another dealer.
Like I already said most won't mind a clean install.
Good Luck...
and don't blind people with any kelvin higher the 8000k

Sounds about right. Some places charge $240 for the kit and $20 to install. BTW, almost everyone claims their kit is made in Germany or Japan, but in the end all kits come from China. When the distributor buys the bulk kits from China, the factory will print anything he wants on the kit like "Maple Leafs HID...Made in East York".
Results with these kits can be very hit and miss. Depending on the kit and your car's headlight housing, it's possible to end up with less light where you need it. Talk to someone who has a HID kit in the same car as yours. There's probably some local Chrysler forums where someone has posted results.

A HID kit is not hard to install. It shouldn't cost $100. You can definitely do it yourself.
And just for your information a HID kit is not real HID, it'll just be a glare kit since your non-HID stock housing is not designed for HID (Not cut off shield, stock housing is designed to "disperse" not "focus").

I believe the 07 has projectors rite? correct me here people, not really into those cars, anyway if you do have projectors its alrite, i would of said until you have projectors don't be like those Civic ghettos that have like 10k HID with no projectors or even reguar 6000k.
However if you don't have projectors, go retrofits- meaning take a existing True HID housing from either AUDi, Acura, Infiniti, Mercedes. The hosuing should be like $180 or so or $200. I remember seeing one here on RFD at the auto forum where they were selling TSX projectos...mind you TSX projectors are very good.

as long as they make chrystler seabring oem hid units, you will be required to change the complete, and yes i mean complete headlight enclosures with two new HID versions, and maybe the wiring may be compatible, maybe not, but in the case of my car; Ford, it was..

correct me here people,
"Projectors" are just one method of focusing the light from a lightsource. You can have halogen projector headlights (Mazda3) or HID reflector headlights like the old Honda/Acuras did. You cannot put HID lights in a housing designed for a halogen light, projector or not.

Old Acura Tegs have projectors as well, it doesn't mean you can put HIDs in them and make them real HIDs. The projectors are not designed to cut off and focus the light the same as real HID projectors.

To do a proper job you need to take the time to retrofit projectors designed for HIDs in the first place. I will be doing this with my Subaru Outback, just got some projectors from a Lexus RX, and a D2S HID kit.
Plus you need to spend the time to properly install and aim your lights.

I think 2007 Sebring has reflectors with 9006 lo-beams and 9005 hi-beams
OP - if you want to try something cheap instead:
1. Build a seperate lighting wiring harness ($20) for about a 30% increase in light.
2. Modify a 9005 high beam bulb to fit into your 9006 low beam housing. It's about $20 a pair. Run a search on google for instructions. It's a common mod the BMW guys do. If you want to want to be fancy, try Toshiba 9012 HIR-2 bulbs in place of your 9006 ($60 a pair).
9006=1000 lm
9005=1700 lm
9012=1875 lm
HID is 3200 lm, but a lot of light is lost - going to the wrong places. Probably only 2000 lm is getting to the road.

Seriously most of people who just answered me really think that putting HIDs in projectors make it realy HID..sigh...read my post, Having projectors+HID makes the light more condensed and not scatterd around, also casues less glare, when having no projectors at all.
