The new series is starting up in two weeks or so. A press conference is scheduled for next week to reveal the new contestants.
Leading up to the new series, there's another one-off celebrity charity edition this week, Sport Relief Does The Apprentice. Kinda like last year, when they did Comic Relief Does The Apprentice had Piers Morgan, Cheryl Cole, and Rupert Everett on it.
Part one of the Sport Relief show aired tonight, with Part two's extended boardroom airing tomorrow.

I just watched the special... and found that it was like a repeat of last series' Comic Relief special. If Bernie Ecclestone wasn't there to match the donations, the losing team would have done even worse than the winners.
As an aside, Sport Relief also resulted in a one-off Top Gear meets Ground Force special. No cars, but still the mayhem of TG's hosts and the comic antics.

Yeesss!!!! The UK version kicks the Donald's butt. Seem like they have quite an interesting group of candidates this thing around too.

Haha, this episode was gold.
Comments:
*Why do 2 or 3 of the guys look like they were lifted from the WB or the OC? This show's not known for its eye candy, male or female.
*Raef looks like Freddie Mercury... the 1991 terminally ill version of Mercury.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/apprentice/images/people/big_RaefBjayou.jpghttp://www.geocities.com/dansmagic79/queenfredlast.jpg
*The new house looks hot. Way better than the accomodations in Trump Tower
Happy with the person who got fired. What a complete pompous twat. I'm still waiting to see who will be this season's Paul/Syed/Tre... aka everyone's favorite loudmouth.
Add-on: Was just watching the "You're Fired" follow-up show and there's some funny behind the scenes clips of the ladies sizing up the guys like some giddy schoolgirls. Seriously, it's like the show has gone the way of the OC....

Paul from Series 1 has to be my favorite Apprentice of all time. He's probably the most sucessful too, having sold his real estate business for 4M pounds.

Where did you find info on this ... I would love to hear more about his success ... I know Tim quit last year to start a grooming business.
Here:
http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/features/Out-of-the-firing-line.1358396.jp
The article is a couple of years old, so Paul had the good luck of cashing out his property business before the real estate crash in Britain.
The thing with Paul is that, yes, he had a big mouth, but he used it effectively as a great negotiator and in defending his corner. Unlike the other legends in their own minds from the later series like Tre, Sayd and this new guy Raef with the hair, who are blowing wind. So far, series 1 has the best slate of candidates overall, the final four were all extremely intelligent and capable and all went on to bigger and better careers after the show.

Caught up with the last few weeks of the show. This whole Alex-mania's going out of hand. I loved how one of the commentators on the You're Fired show quipped that he was a Take That reject.
Regardless, I see him, Claire, and Lee being the faves to win.

No I want Micheal to win now that he went all crazy in the board room. That was the funnest thing I ever seen ... he win one task and he goes nuts.
That Michael character is a riot. Apparently he paid for his university tuition by being a gigolo... :cheesygri :cheesygri

I think it was hilarious that she said she was 36 and had never heard about Kosher before.
I also thought it was hilarious that it was clear that the chicken wasn't blessed, and that they knew it, but they decided to try to con themselves into believing it was, just for the hell of getting it. It was pretty obvious those people weren't Rabbi's and were just playing along to sell their chickens...

My three picks are still in. Editors had a lot of fun toying with the viewers on this one.
Next week looks fun with them renting out Pagani Zondas and Ferraris. I know there's a similar service in Canada - I remember reading one story where a wife got a Plymouth Prowler parked on the driveway for her husband's birthday. The man's joy turned to grief when he realized it was just a day rental. :D

I don't know, Alex is a backstabbing slimeball and the rest aren't much better. I think the whole lot should be fired. At least Simon was more honest during his tasks and not as self promoting as the current crop. There are no deserving winners this season.
Madchester
Jun 4th, 2008, 12:40 PM
Simon was as useless as Michael this season. Both guys are young and naive - they also created a lot of inadvertent humour whether it was the former's "Street rap"/trampoline "knobbing" or the latter's kosher nonsense. Simon is a manageable arse-licker and that's the only reason he got hired.
The winner's going to be one of Claire, Alex or Lee; all 3 were my picks early in the series. I could see Claire being hired; she's the Badger-lite and it'll make up for the whole Michelle Dewberry gaffe (hookup with Syed and subsequent miscarriage)
Lucinda has no chance of winning, but I can't wait to hear her off-the-wall comments in the interviews.

That was a weird twist for the ending. But I should have expected it, since there were reports of a perfume task, and it hadn't come up yet. In the past, I was wondering why there had never been 3 people in a finale... cuz ppl like Ansell or James would were more than capable to win their respective series.

I spoiled myself and learned who won the Apprentice, after clicking on my bookmark to The Times. I'm not really surprised by the winner though - for the past few months, the individual's headshot was used to link to the Times' weekly Apprentice column.
I saw the Weakest Link special edition with past Apprentice candidates. Anne Robinson just ripped golddigger Katie Hopkins apart with her witticisms. It was beautiful to watch.

i think all 3 deserved to be fired
the leader was utter crap, 2nd in charge was having a meltdown and her sub group did not make as much as the other group and lost out on a deal
the one that got fired just did what was told, when she said the budget amount, even though she deserves the blame, someone should have said the budget is too high, especially the project leader
the girls are pretty ... until they open their mouth and you see their teeth :-0:razz:

I don't think he's in the right position. Even Margaret couldn't contain her laughter.
His exercise device was just plain hideous. The firing made no sense within the context of the episode, but watching You're Fired, it was understandable given the contestant's nonchalant comments. The behind the scenes footage with Phil was gold.

Rumours suggest that she gets it on with Phillip over the course of the show.
Katherine Jenkins was the fittest girl on that episode....the Beeb should have added a disclaimer before cutting away to Lorraine in the middle of the performance. When Sir Alan announced the prize was a recital with Katherine Jenkins, you could catch the moment Phillip jizzed in his pants.
