All I gotta say is... Nice! Electric blue and stacked tailpipes.. BE-series Ontario plate so they must've just imported it from the US.
Soon I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of them as they're sold in Canada later this year, but still nice and rare now...

Not really a fan of the stacked pailpipes, fake or not. But, I wanna see it on the roads. Too bad it lost the huge side vents behind the front wheels for production.

Thanks for noticing my ride. I just got it delivered today and took it for a spin; was really hard to decide between the M3 and IS-F but I think I made the right choice in the end.
I am j/k incase some people don't catch on. Really nice car though.

I think it’s time everyone make some changes to your Christmas wishlists because we have a little surprise for you. Lexus announced the Nieman Marcus IS F Limited Edition and we like it already, even though we only have this photo.
Considered the fastest production car ever produced by Lexus, the special edition IS F is powered by a 5.0 liter V8 engine that takes the car from 0 to 62 mph (100km/h) in just 4.9 seconds. Transmission is made through a Sport Direct Shift eight-speed gearbox and the car also features Lexus’ Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system, Bluetooth interface, and premium sound and DVD systems included.
The car also got some exclusive interior modifications, like black material with white accent stitching, white leather accents, and an F logo on the headrests. So, what to say, great choice for Christmas! Oh, and one more thing, the Neiman Marcus IS F will be priced at $68,000 and hurry up, because the edition is limited to only 50 units.

I was indifferent to the pics of them online, but following the real thing on the 401 I found it looked pretty good (fake or otherwise...) -- distinctive, and not in the Pontiac Aztec sense..

Nothing like paying more for a car that is all around slower then the BMW M3, boring to drive and much uglier:lol:
At least you won't have to pay over MSRP for one, like an M3 or GT-R. US invoice is $49.2k. I hope the guy was able to get it for just over invoice.

its not slower than a M3, they're bout the same but the IS-F has a lot more torque.
boring to drive? have you driven one?
but hey, atleast it wont be in the shop as much as the BMW and you dont have to worry about your dash dying and other electrical problems...LOL

Ok... So the tailpipe tips are chromed plastic intergrated into the bumper and not connected to exhaust system. Would it be considered a tailpipe tip or finisher if it's not connected to the exhaust system at all?
Maybe it's a stacked bumper exhaust port?
I don't undrstad what Toyota was thinking when they did that. Mazadaspeed 6 took more then enough flack for that decision and it costs half the price of the IS-F.

I found that the IS-F stacked chrome bumper exhaust ports where implemented in a less successul way.
It's not everyday you see "quad stacked exhaust tips". However, that extra attention drawn to that area will usually get a good chuckle out of a car enthusiast. In a front engined car, the stacked arrangement is odd to begin with and on top of that they're not real exhaust tiips.

Lambo and Audi did the samething with their supercar and their car costs 2-4x of the IS-F

no i have not driven the new M3 nor an IS-F, hence i can't comment on whether one is boring to drive or not. All i can comment on is the power and acceleration numbers from testing and publication. and i have my G.
do you have a point?

as a matter of fact, i do....
thay are fuctional as a heat resignator the turbo exhaust of the speed6
comes out at +/-1600 degrees and those help desipate the heat and reflect it from the bumper
w/o those tips, the bumper will run really hot, and may even melt (in that area)
i've seen ppl removin' the tips, cat-back and replace it w/
magnaflow unit, sure they look better, but some actually
melted the diffuser....
then again, i'm sure Mazda can design somethin' that loooks better than
what they have offered. look @ the speed3, you don't see
these big hideous tips...

YES
dependabiilty studies are plentiful as well as initial quality. i can look at dependability studies just like i can testing numbers and power numbers.
so i can say a BMW M3 will have a much higher predisposition to be in need of repair and suffer from defects than the Lexus.
what i cant say is whether a specific M3 of IS-F down to the Vin number will have a higher chance to be in need of repair or not.
so what is your point again? it's been a few posts that you've made without one already.

I find it rather amusing the comments about "fake" exhaust tips  I've never before heard the word "fake" when it comes to exhaust tips. Connected tips or not, who the heck cares?
The only time I've heard the word fake used to describe something relevant to exhaust performance is where you have split/dual exhausts on inline engines or where a crossover pipe is used at the manifolds on a v-block engine and then split again before it exits to get dual exhausts. These would be "fake duals" but fake tips? Again connected or not, why on earth would you care? Not really a performance item here.

you looked at one particular test on one particular track at one point in time. so no, it doesnt mean in relation the M3 or IS-F is faster or slower than each other. and what i said by more or less the same is more appropriate
and here, it is faster by 0.1sec
"This first F (there'll be more Lexus models with the F treatment soon, most likely) is a V-8-powered sledgehammer that rockets to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds—fleeter by 0.1 second than the new M3—has a 172-mph speed governor, and generates 0.92 g on the skidpad."
here it is slower by 0.1sec
"the sedan galloped to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 12.6 seconds at 113 mph. Despite the claimed 155-mph limiter, our test car crept past it to 161 mph"
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/hot_lists/high_performance/performance_files_tested_by_c_d/2008_bmw_m3_sedan_short_take_road_test
the IS-F has 70+lb more torque and similar weight and a few extra HP and a couple more gear ratios. i don't really see how it is measurably slower and the magazines seems to confirm that.

my point is quite simple M3>IS-F. But hey if you need something a little more reliable go ahead and get yourself a corolla, but if you need a nice sport coupe M3 is there for a reason.

Ah... That's why I said I hate magazine racing...
You decided to pick the one test where the IS-F got good acceleration numbers. However, most of the other test I've read with the IS-F. It usaually test out to be a mid-high 4s 0-60 and low 13s 1/4 mile machine.
The RS4 handily beat the IS-F in all speed test in that review not just by a few tenths.
However, it has been proven multiple times over that the RS4 is all round slower then the E92 M3. Also, remember I said all round speed....

That's nice and all but I said all round speed. If I were into straight line speed in this car segment. I would just pick up the CTS-V.
Another troubling fact that leads me to believe that the IS-F isn't as good of a car as the E92 M3. Is the fact that Toyota has not provided any to test against the competitor's cars. Which is a very bad sign that Toyota lacks confidence in their car.
Look at the GT-R . Nissan has provided a GT-R to go up against the Porsche 911 turbo, Audi R8, Porsche GT3, BMW M3 and Lamboghini Gallado Superlegga in magazine reviews.
BMW has let E92 M3 go up against the C63 AMG, Porsche GT3, Audi RS4, GT-R in reviews.
The IS-F has only been seen in one review agains the RS4 and got beat soundly. When manufacturer's don't let their mass produced car compete in the open against their competitor's that is a very bad sign.
