I started my car this morning and my car was left in 2wd mode. for some reason, the 4wd light was on even though its not really on 4wd. I then switched it to 4wd to drive it through some snow on my driveway, but it never switched to 4wd even though i pulled it down. There was no noise whatsoever. I have a 2002 grand vitara limited.
so just to sum it up. car is in 2wd but it says that its in 4wd.. and when i do switch it to 4wd, high or low, the transfer case switches, but it doesn't really go into 4wd. as only my rear tires spin. could it be that my transfer case is out of adjustment? or on board computer failure? or has my transfer case totally died out?
