Just bought tickets for tomorrow!! I can't wait...and to be honest with you, it's hubby's guilty pleasure too, so he's looking forward to a night out! If it wasn't a 10pm show tonite, I think he would have taken me tonite!! hehe:cheesygri

I know the reviewers are dogging it. Why they would send male reviewers to a movie that women are looking forward to is beyond me..lol
Give us this boys....you have Ironman and Indy!! hehe

hate to break your spirits but its got a 3.4 rating on imdb and its going down even more. who thought whiny needy women in overpriced fashion living a non-existant life in the real world could possibly rate so low:lol:

Know what....most women put up with stupid slasher movies, and boys not wanting to grow up and live with comic books come to life movies....Give the ladies this ONE, without trashing it! Sheesh.

If you enjoyed the series, then you will 'get' the movie.....simple as that!

Are you sure your in the target market? Cause I'm pretty sure the 12 year old boys who make up the majority of IMDb raters aren't.

back....I enjoyed it. You HAVE to know the characters and what happened when it aired to 'get' it. Without prior knowledge, you will be lost for most of the movie.

It's cute, funny, entertaining. I am not an emotional movie goer.....but this mamma cried at least 5x!!!

It's a classic....if you know the franchise.

I jonesed A LOT...I can see the hairstyles this summer!

Oh great! So an over-emotional mamma that cries at Bell Commercials will need exactly HOW much tissue? I'm still going.

ive seen some episodes of the series myself and as a guy i liked them in a stupid funny kind of way with the last bit of real world touch to it.

but point is...a guy who goes to see iron man will not wear a red costume "this summer" nor will he gamble and **** anyone who he wants like tony stark. Women who watch sex and the city on the other hand...

that and i dont remember ever dragging anyone to see anything. i either go or i dont. i dont "pull" anyone along just for company, its why i try having a diversified "portfolio" of friends heh...each to their own.:cheesygri

I enjoyed it overall, much better than The Crystal Skull.

I liked how Michael Patrick King used the title credits to give the audience an idea were each character has gone through and if you are a fan/like I am, seeing the Past Clips was great/brings back memories.

My favorite is Samatha Jones (Kim Cattrall), I love her story/she really carried the movie, for her not to be part of it (read the Rumors) is just wrong.

So far I'm loving 2008

1. Iron Man
2. Forgetting Sarah Marshall
3. Sex and the City
4. Cloverfield
5. Indiana Jones

Absolutely wonderful movie if you are a fan of the series...

However, I am a little confused about the subplot with Jennifer Hudson and the point of it. It just seemed a little 'tacked' on. Perhaps they wanted to show more diversity in the movie?

Bingo, there have been a number of complaints about Sex in the City of White People...

Movie theatre or bootleg copy ... debating.
Taking my girlfriend, I've been known to watch a few episodes but I'll ask her for the "Review" first.

Imagine a guy sitting in a theatre full of girls crying watching sex and the city...that's pretty much my picture of hell on earth. But then again, maybe the heaven on earth in the theatre would make up for it .

Saw it last night with my girlfriend ... for someone that's caught a few episodes here and there with her, I'd say it was pretty good.
It made me laugh at different parts, made me smile ... all that stuff. Made my girlfriend emotional, that's for sure ...

There was a serious lack of penis in the theatre ... when I was walking in, the theatre was already pretty full and I kept telling my girlfriend "I - AM - A MAN!" jokingly ...

All honesty, it was a lot better to watch the movie in the theatre than it would have been watching it at home with her. The jokes were that much funnier and it made the movie that much better. It would have been slow to watch at home.

i watched it last night with my gf and 2 of my buddies... lol we were basically the only 3 dudes in the theatre...

i found it lame, but my gf liked it a lot and one of my buddies too... there ws this one scene i turned aorund (sitting in the front row) and looked back and the entire theater was crying lol

never have i seen so many women in a theatre by themselves lolll

I loved the movie when i saw it - i love how women just flock to the movie and admire the characters so much. it really is a great thing to see among the masses.

just came back from the movie - I got to admit it was pretty good. I've never followed the show, caught a few episodes here and there.

what I notice, like everyone else, I was 1 of probably 10 guys in a packed theatre... and as we waited for the movie to start (were sitting there for 40 before start, and it was almost all full by 20 before start) - I've never heard a theatre being so loud before start of a movie - sorry ladies, I attribute this to the large gathering of women chattering away.

How did they portray Asians?

:cheesygri Didnt you know women reach thier sexual prime at 40!~~

It is a hormonal thing - this is the body telling the mind that for the woman this is the last time in life that she has a chance of getting pregnant.

As for the movie - if you think about the movie - this is the reason that marriages happening later in life or are falling apart faster than ever before.

Basic premise of the movie is "Women are empowered and men are always the ones at fault"

Think about the marriage

1. Big wanted to get married while Carrie wanted to turn it into a circus - it was not about "Them" it was all about "Her".
2. Big has jitters and makes a mistake and turns right around but Carrie freaks abd does not want to go through with it. I think she should have gone ahead with the wedding.
3. Big had fears and Miranda said the wrong thing that magnified his fears - yet Miranda would not say anything to Carrie that it was her fault.
4. Why did Charlotte not let Miranda tell Carrie? Better that the man is at fault than one of the girlfriends.
5. Why did Miranda's relationship fall apart? She would not have sex with her husband.

Women are getting what they deserve - empowered loneliness.

omg I nearly balled my eyes out in that scene where carrie got out of the limo on the street and starting hitting Big with her wedding bouquet saying that she was humiliated. The crest of the emotion came when Charlotte got out of the car to keep Big away. I almost sent john@jjpny.com a nasty email when I got home.
