I've never been there so I really don't know how good the sale is but I've lost a lot of weight and none of my suits fit me so I'm definitely going to check it out for some deals. If anyone has been to a past sale I would love to hear from them about the quality of the suits and deals available.

seeing as how this sale is going to start this week i felt it appropriate to bump my old post... also to ask again if anyone has been to this sale before...
i am in desperate need of a new suit and i'd like to get one that's higher quality than moores/international clothiers/sears so please save those suggestions for posts where half the people complain that $200 is way to much to spend on a suit and the other half argue that those people are incredibly cheap and that everyone should be spending at least $1000 on tailor made suits... if anyone has been to this sale before let me know if it's worth going

yes i've been to the sale before and will go again this week. there's quite a lot of good quality clothes for low prices. i haven't bought a suit there but from what i hear it's good quality. i have a cousin whose a tailor and he thinks it's great value for the dollar.
as for the non-suit clothing, there's a lot of european style shirts that might not be for everybody.

Its a scam, low end Calvin Klein suits for $1600 but you get 3 more for free. It seems they have included the price of free suits in the Calvin Klein suit price. Don't waste your time.

I've been there before. You do not need to buy three suits.
You can get a very good suit for $350

went to the sale, but didn't really find a suit that i liked, much less 5... guess i have to get one custom made
the other stuff was terrible (sweaters looked like they were straight out of bill cosby's closet) and the shirts were not that well priced

My experience is that the Tom's Place Warehouse sale and the actual Tom's Place store in Kensington Market are like night and day. You might find it worthwhile to make a visit to the actual store, kohlio1979. The selection is vast and there are suits for every price-point, IME.
My other favourite place for men's suits of good quality in the GTA is Grafton & Co. The quality is as good as Harry Rosen, but the prices tend to be in the $500-$700 range rather than $1000+. They have absolutely no online presence, but there's one in the Eaton Centre and one at Sherway Gardens as well as others, I'm sure.

I went there with my colleague last month for the 5 for 1 sale. The ad clearly states 5 for 1 suits. I called and spoke to a lady who confimred yes it is 5 for one. You only pay for the most expensive suit and receive the other 4 at no charge. This was not the case when we got down there.
It is true, they sell cheap suits that are avaliable anywhere for a lot less. The only thing is there are NO individual prices. Rather 4 for $1199.00, 3 for $1699 etc.
So what they do is this. You find a suit, say 4 for $1199.00. What they did is divided the $1199.00 by 5 and that was your price for that suit = $239.00 plus GST.. Then say you find a suit that has a tag of 3 for $1699.00. Well by there math it is $1699.00 divided by 5 = $339.80 plus GST.
When I asked about the 5 for 1 they explained that this was the 5 for 1 being advertised. I finally spoke to Tom. What a gem. This was his quote", Why would you want to pay full price? I would charge you $1699.00 for one if you want me to?".. BUT the $1699.00 is not the price of ONE SUIT
I will NEVER EVER purchase another suit from there ever again. The staff talked down to us, as I stated that this was false advertising.
Your best bet is to stay away from this company. We are in the process of contacting the Advertising Board to lodge a formal complaint about bad advertising practices.
As for the service, I'll never set foot in there again.
