I went to loblaws (bayview and moore) and as i was passing the tea isle i noticed a bunch of bright pink labels on this tea.. since i've drank this tea and it's not that bad i decided to have a further look ;)

regular price $3.79.. 50% off so $1.89 but right next to the tea there was a coupon (sorry no pic) for $1 off any sri lankan pyramid tea.. the cashier just took a dollar off at the register..
reason why they were on sale? most of them had expiry dates either 11/2007 or 01/2008 or 02/2008 but i found 3 that were 11/2008..

the cashier gave me a buck off of all of them even though it says 1 per person/transaction.. not sure if this would apply to all locations hence YMMV

that's the RFD spirit ;)
buy it b/c it's a deal and then tell me if you like it :D
it's not a strong tea like taj mahal i got in the states or an earl gray.. it's fairly mild and some might say that it's a tad on the perfumy side but it's just a break for me from those other 2 i mentioned .. i like it for once in a while type drink but wouldn't drink it daily..
the pyramid style bag is annoying b/c when you want to wrap it around the spoon (to ring out any excess tea so it doesn't drip all over the floor when you go throw it into the garbage) due to the design, it slips back into the tea!! lol.. and i hate the teabag in.. but i learned to deal with it ;)

Thanks for sharing this deal, I'll check it out
Any thoughts on some good (and not too expensive) green teas?
What would you get for a daily black tea? The last bunch I picked up on a whim at walmart, was Hedley's english breakfast tea. It was pretty good..

I like it. Tastes very good and is a great tea to drink without adding anything.
Worth trying at the least.
Thank OP. I will check this out.

i am no tea connoisseur but this taj mahal is very strong (and good).. you can make 2 medium-strong cups out of this easily.. unfortunately i've only seen this in the states.. $2.99 for 100 bags!!!

i don't drink green tea but my girl does and she found one that tastes pretty good.. see below.. that earl grey is good and not too strong so it could be used daily but i got sick of it after a while and now alternate taj/EG/SLG

np.. but the Sri Lankan Gold Pyramid tea i posted is not strong.. maybe if you steep it long enough but i would say it's barely medium.. a nice change tho..
