I purchased mine at Staples the last time for $312 +Tax. Great camera, best that I have ever had. I'm down in the USA right now & both Best Buy & Circuit City are selling this camera for $399.

Don't know anything about cameras so I apologize up front, but my wife showed some interest in a DSLR. It looks like a SLR but I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in the write up.

It is not an SLR. It fits in the 'super-zoom' segment of Point&shoots.

That's because it's not. P.S. It also does not act as a vacuum cleaner, if it did, it would be in the write up. ;)

Got a respones from staples within an hour. Price matched online price of 330 plus 15 next day delivery. So it was like 335 with the 10 percent plus shippong use some coupons and it should be under 300

that is weird. I just got this message...

We have researched your request to price guarantee item #702140. Unfortunately, we were unable to match our 110% Price Guarantee for the following reason;

-Staples does not price match to "Doorcrasher" offers.

Hi all,
I won't be using the price match with staples, can I transfer it to someone who wants it? Or do they track it by email? If someone else can use it, I can send them the email I received from Staples and you can try...

When will Canon make a camera with 18x zoom? ;)

I got this camera from staples PM'd against the $359 price and used $60 worth of coupons I scraped up at the time. I love the camera and going back and using other peoples point and shoot compacts is painful.

Did you print the web page to show or you tell them to go to their Sig web site?

They can say we don't have SigElectronics store in Qc...and the online deal needs to add shipping. They can use them as excuse to deny the PM. I got denied once at BB before, coz the competitor doesn't have store in QC and they deny the PM....online deals involve shipping will deny as well.

Also, FS is 349 now and BB is 449...Should be better off PM with BB instead of FS.

Just get the 1.5x Canon dedicated telephoto lens converter TC-DC58B and your S5 will be 18x zoom.

It would seem BB is now down to $399 so the PM ain't quite as sweet but still not bad. I have a $200 GC for BB so I could PM this (or just the FS price of $349) and get this for $122 - $140 + tax out of pocket :)

Very tempting...

Thanks For the Link!! :D :D :D

I purchased the Canon S5 from FS last Tuesday for $399, and today I brought in the Sigelectronic deal and FS matched the price plus 10% of the difference so I got it for $311.99!!!

It was nice to get $90 back!!!

Thanks OP!!

I told them to go to the page, BB wouldnt do it because they're not local but FS had no problem doing it

Staples - $399.99
Sig - $329.99
10% = 7
Final = $322
If you can find one or two good coupons, you may further save $30-60.
This means you can get it for $262-292 + tax. if you are lucky.

Hi

I just got a Canon S5 from Staples by PM with SigElectronics (http://www.sigelectronics.com/Electronics/Canon/Canon-PowerShot-S5-IS-Digital-Camera)

PM = 329.99 - 6$ (PM) + 7.99$ (shipping) = 331$

I then used 2 20$ off 150$ coupons from staples coupon thread (expire March 21) to bring price down to 291$ + tax

thanks

add a personal coupon (16 digits) for 20$ if you have one -> 271 ;)

you're lucky! they are not supposed to match door crasher deals.

Captain Snazzypants

This isn't really a door crasher sale since it runs for 2 and a half weeks. Most such sales are limited to only one or two hours on the opening day.

I am going to try and PM this at Best Buy (only because I have a GC there) and will report back if I have any luck...

P.S. I really want to like this camera, but everytime I test it out in the store I get really blurry pictures. I have it on automatic, all defaults, and a slight hand movement as I take the picture - I call this the "wife test". Anyone else experience this? The damn thing gets rave reviews, so it must be an isolated problem (i.e. me) :)

I actually tried twice before... two other reps told me they don't PM 'door crashers'. The last rep I called didn't say anything about it.

good luck!
