The spec. is not bad at all. But, It's kind of heavy, Weight: 1.92kg, for a tablet.

i think this has a touchscreen only and the pen input for writing had poor reviews. The new tx2000 is coming out, and has both the touchscreen and a wacom compatible pen/screen, so you get the best of both. If you plan to use it for writing and note taking you might want to wait.

hp.com has the new tx2000 listed with a basic configuration of $999. When it comes to canada, it should be that if not lower, yet I am sure it will have the Canadian special price of 1699 or higher.

Tracer is correct, the TX2000 is the model you'd want, not this one. I have the TX1000 (no tablet, other features same) and it's the best laptop I've ever owned. I love it. I can't wait for it to break in a year or so, so that my Future Shop PSP will have to replace it with a TX2000. :p (I can dream, right?)

However, the tablet features of the TX1000 line are poop. If you want a tablet, avoid this line. If you want a small, light, powerful and clearly affordably priced lappy..this is a great deal.

I'm waiting for the TX2000 to launch in Canada....

I missed the awesome deal on HP.com where they had a $500off $1399 or more coupon, it ended on Feb 9th. And on HP.com you can customize all the features of the computer like on Dell's site.

HP.ca never has deals that good...

Wow an extra $500 for an active digitizer and an extended right shift key (http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/03/hp-intros-pavilion-tx2000-tablet-revamps-monolithic-hdx/) LMAO for shame HP for shame.

Edit oops looks like just $500 - edited LOL
