A jailbreak is the act or tool used to perform the act of breaking out of a chroot or jail in UNIX-like operating systems or bypassing digital rights management (DRM). In the former case it allows the user to see files outside of the filesystem that the administrator intends to make available to the application or user in question. In the context of DRM, this allows the user to run arbitrarily defined code on DRM-encumbered devices as well as break out of chroot-like restrictions. DRM-encumbered devices such as the iPhone have repeatedly been subject to jailbreaks, allowing the execution of arbitrary code, but have had those jailbreaks disabled by vendor updates.

From wikipedia ^^

In short, it's makes the ipod touch run app's that Apple didn't intend it to run. Like games and utilities.

I also laugh at the term. Jailbreak is funny. Hell yeah, Apple has become full of commies who restrict you with their crap. Jailbreak is very apt.

Where the hell is the rumoured price reduction? I heard they're dropping $100 off their iPod Touch (my ass).

I sure hope it wasn't funny, that was not the point. Not everything posted has to be funny.

The point was to show that people should GOOGLE things before coming here and asking questions, as for not doing this, THATS stupid.

your comment is irrelevent because its like saying to your teacher. l dont know how x relates with y, then he says google it

Incorrect. The relationship between x and y varies, there is no one set answer; your question has only one possible answer, making Google an option.

Your example was pointless and irrelevant. For an example to have merit, it has to relate to the topic.

well if l wanted to know something, you ask your peers.instead you being so "constructive" gives a worthless comment that anyone could have figured out. BUT the point was to ask peers that are able to summarize it for you

Goggle CAN answer/solve MOST concerns/issues.

if google fails, thread crap away.

Note: this is now the 31st useless post.

Using your theory, for this thread to have merit, Google would not be able to provide the answer to his question. In this case, Google is filled with information about iTouch jailbreaking.

This post makes numbero 33.

l never said google didn't have answer. l just said that why not ask people, that has experience and know the answer and can summarize with a few sentence then reading a whole article? Why not use resources? why do the hard way when theres a simplier way?

Using your resources would be using Google. That is unless, all of RFD is your own research staff. Im not sure about you, but to me Googleing "itouch jailbreak" requires less typing than creating a thread.

I think they are trying to differentiate jailbreaking from unlocking. Unlocking the iphone because its locked with ATT.
