I am looking to purchase a widescreen monitor or maybe a TV within the range of $400. My PC is old and crappy so I am using my laptop 99% of the time now. That leaves my 19" Samsung LCD monitor for my XBOX only (I don't have any LCD TV at home). So what would you guys suggest me to do? Get a LCD TV or monitor? I might be replacing my PC in the future but not sure yet so I'm leaning on getting a 22" monitor.
I have looked at this LG which has HDMI input.

Bought that exact monitor about a year ago for $450 and love it. I run my pc on it with the DVI input, and then my 360 with the Component inputs at 720p or 1080i. I think VGA/HDMI could do 1080p, but I don't have the cable. Can switch between the 4 inputs (DVI,VGA,Component, HDMI) easily, and it even can do PIP for the component/VGA.

I have both VGA and HDMI cable, but of course I would use the HDMI if I get that monitor. It didn't say that this monitor can support 1080p though?

I thought it did, not sure though since I never tested it. It might just take a 1080p input and scale it down to 1680x1050.

Would the resolution be a problem? Since the monitor outputs 1680x1050 and its not one of the resolution offered by the XBOX system. I believe it has 1280x960 and 1960x???

I got my 24" Westinghouse on sale for about $399 at bestbuy. It will do 1920x1200 and has a really good picture.

just a note lcd tvs are 16:9, and lcd monitors are 16:10 so make sure the monitor will scale the xbox properly.

I actually turn scaling off. I'd rather 2 very small horizontal bars than the stretched image.

How can I find out if the monitor will scale it properly?
Does it have to do with the resolution offered by the monitor? I don't think any 22" has the same native resolution as the ones offered by XBOX. So I'm guessing I would have to go with the smaller resolution and end up with some black bars?
I'm mainly looking for a monitor that has HDMI port because I can directly connect my XBOX to it without the hassel of converting it to DVI or using my VGA cable.
