So I bought an LCD flat panel display just after Christmas. 2 weeks later, I come home and my 3 year old has writton on it with a ball point pen (blamed it on the cat but I didn't buy that...smarter than I look). I've got the ink cleaned off but sometimes you can see the "track" of the ink and he punctured the fabric that covers the panel in a few places. It's mostly not that noticeable but depening on what you are watching, you will see the damage on occasion. My question is, can the fabric be replaced or repaired? I'm betting it cannot but everyone I talk to asks if it can be repaired so it's got me wondering.

Tell the little bum to get a job so he can buy you a new monitor. lol.
Seriously tho, it's a fact of life. Curious little minds and electronics don't mix. I remember coming home from school in grade 10 and finding my 4 year old brother painted the front of my Sony stereo with White Out. Good times...
At least this didn't happen:

well ... being in the industry of repairing LCD display a few years back - your really in a very difficult position, the screen itself is can be replaced but it would cost you more or @ least 2x the cost of the screen. I really doubt that you'll find a loop hole on the warranty of the fined print. but it really never hurts to ask too ..
good luck ..
oh yah, one other thing ... the whole electronics things might be painful to your wallet but the well being of your kids sure do keep you entertain to years to come. These pictures are just priceless ..

If you paid with a Visa credit card, it's possible that you might have recourse through them. Otherwise you're SOL...
Very small possibility that the plastic might have memory and with the help of some heat; the low setting of the hair drier...
If you have an image, I would say leave it..
