so comps when funny lately

eventually it would not turn off simply by holding the power button, so i decided to pull the plug on the PSU

now it will not turn back on

i tested the PSU, it works, so does that mean that the motherbroad is fried?
does the processor still work?

nothing fancy, A64 3200+, some MSI broad, 350Watt PSU

i just wanna know which parts i need to buy to get this thing working again, and i do not have the resources to test each part to get a true diagnoses.

sounds like the motherboard, but i dont know if you've done anything other than press the powerbutton a million times. i had an msi board's internal power connector fry on me once, but really, if you can't test the parts, just take it in for service, save yourself the time, headache and cost associated with it.

Check the motherboard for blown capacitors, I remember back awhile ago msi had a horrible time with them. You might have the end of that era of boards. If there are blown caps the board is pretty much toast.

Just a shot in the dark, but make sure the connector for the power button is not loose (or came unconnected to the mobo)
