Hi guys,

I just built an HTPC system and wanted to output the audio to the TV speakers. My HTPC is connected to the LCD TV via a DVI/HDMI connection (For those who own the Sharp, I'm using Input 5). Input 5 also has an audio input. So I purchased a 3.5mm-RCA cable so that I can output the sound from my HTPC to the TV speakers. However, no sound is coming through. The cable works and I know the HTPC is not the problem (since it works with my computer speakers).

Anyone have the same problem?

Since you are using a DVI-to-HDMI cable, there will be no audio signal coming from the HDMI connection. I am not sure about your particular TV. Some TVs require the user to choose between accepting audio signal from the HDMI input and the separate stereo input.

Yah, I was hoping that was the case. But the TV's audio control doesn't have the option of switching between the HDMI audio and the RCA audio.

Read page 30 of your TV manual ... Look for "Audio Select" ...

I believe you can select the audio type for INPUT5
Press INPUT to select INPUT 5
Press MENU and Press </> to select "Option"
Press ^/V to slect "Input Select", and then enter
press ^/V to select analog

Hope this help =)
