Hello,

If I want to get home insurance for an apt. i'm renting. Can someone point to the right direction where to start? I'm also looking into purchasing a used car in the coming year. Will getting home insurance make my car insurance be cheaper?

Has anyone had any good experience or good rates? I was wondering if PC financial has the Home insurance for renters?

What are some things I should know in regards to getting home insurance as a renter?

You're looking at getting content insurance, because the home isn't yours. Content insurance may or may not get you a reduced auto insurance rate, but if it does, it'll likely be minimal.

I've been researching on the very same stuff (Home Insurance and Auto Insurance) and familiarizing these things for the first time in my life...anyway, yes there tends to be cheaper premium when you have Auto Insurance under the same roof as your home insurance (known as Multi-Line/Multi-Policy).

Defintiely try using http://kanetix.com ... good site to get values for insurance (sadly it doesnt allow you to combine so you will just have to guess). The only way to get real value is to call the broker/agent after getting the quote at the end.

Recall that increasing Deductible amounts is a good way to reduce your Premium, and of course, as we discussed above, Multi-Line...other discount possbilities to look for include:

o Being a member of a Trade Union
o Age (if u are over 50)
o Conviction Free
o Claims Free
o Make/Model/Year of vehcile
