I've always been a big fan of Lamborghini. And the Lambo theater is by far the best Auto Show experience I've had. I can stay in that room all day long! :D

mv10, looks like you went on press day? That's the only time I'll want to go now... I was able to get passes a few years back. It's so much better - nobody walking infront of your camera, nobody telling you to hurry up with the cars, most of the cars are unlocked, and things are generally much quieter.

Where are the show girls?

This is a real car show for the main public, not a teenage hormonal driven horn fest.

With that said, reps for some of the manufacturers were very classy and pretty. I didn't want to ask them for their photo because I just didn't feel right about it. I didn't have my model release forms on me either so I wouldn't have done it either way.

Enjoyed looking at your car show pictures. You had some more interesting looks. Car show pics, in my opinion, are a dime a dozen. Most people shoot the same shots year after year.

I know exactly what you meant, and I feel exactly like that having going to several car shows every single year. That's why I go to auto show sometime with more unconventional lens (a telephoto for instance), for something different.

Who knows, maybe I'll be bringing a MPE65 to the auto show next time. :lol:

Got free ticks, so went 2nd time trying to capture less "typical" car shots and tried for more "detail-type" shots of the cars. Lens used was mainly my 50mm f1.8, definitely forces you to compose your shots more carefully, but I'm satisfied with the results I got. Adjusted to black/white WB for some cars since I thought it worked for those shots.

Comments/suggestions always appreciated! Enjoy :razz:

How long does it takes to visit the show?

i think the newer evo is soooooooo ugly
i loved the older designs
i think its that plastic front bumper portion and the back end

Agreed, nothing exciting at either of their booths, except for maybe the old-school Civic.....

So everyone, now that the show is done with....

which Manufacturer impressed/disappointed you the most, in terms of actual cars presented, display's themselves, or just the general vibe you got....

Impressed: Audi and Mercedes. Cliche, I know, but the fact that in previous autoshows, you had no access into the cars, esp. the high-end MB. But this time you had access, except the SLR McLaren. Also, sitting inside the R8, worth the ticket alone....:D :lol:

Disappointed: Saturn and Hyundai,,,both booth's were very quiet and not enough promotion over their premier cars (Saturn Astra and Hyundai Genesis). Personally I like the Astra for its Euro-like styling, and I think the Genesis is a interesting sedan, especially w/that no-badge chrome grill. If they wanted the grill to stand out, which they should, they shoulda choose the car in Black, not silver...

Thoughts?

I agree as well.

Hyundai was like non-existant, same with Saturn. I thought Nissan could have done a better job too with their booth, I guess they wanted to let their cars speak for themselves. (G37 anyone?)

One thing's for sure, seeing the red Altima Coupe on display solidified my resolved in buying that car within the next 2 months. I had been contemplating the Accord Coupe and with both at the show, my decision is now clear.
