Just as the title states..

I am selling my Toshiba HD DVD A-3 player for $115 << $110 SOLD!!

I bought it on Boxing day and I got 2yr extended warranty from Futureshop..so if anything goes wrong in 2 yrs..they will give u a replacement

NOTE: This does not come with any HDDVD - 5 free or the 2 that were included in box

I have the original box and rest everything else that the player comes with. I live in Mississauga but can meet halfway at yorkdale mall.

I dont want any debate over HDDVD vs Bluray..this is a great upconverting player and is comparable to much expensive upconverting players like Oppo.

PM IS THE KEY!!

MORE INFO:
The warranty is 2 year HD & BLU RAY warranty and it expires on Dec 26, 2009 So if anything goes wrong with the player you get a BluRay player in return since all HDDVD players would be gone by then :D

They will give u a replacement of what. HD dvd is dead. If it came with the 2 free movies and 5 free MIR offer I would consider. But I am better off at purchasing this unit brand new from Futureshop for 115 with the 2 free movies and 5 MIR offer. Good luck with the sale though.

the extended warranty is for HD/ Blu ray replacement..thats the whole point of getting this extended warranty..so if by any magic the dvd player stops working next yr ;) .. i get a blu ray player since they wont have any HD DVD players left

Here's a tip to any potential buyer. Buy this HD-DVD player from the OP for $110 now. Use it for about a year, and then kill the HD-DVD player intentionally (do a search on google about a few clever techniques that have been used to claim RMA warranty successfully). Then go back to FS to get your replacement BluRay player, thus you get to buy a cheap BluRay player for $110 if everything is working in your favour

To the OP: Which model of BluRay player will FS replace the HD-DVD player with? And who told you that FS will replace a BluRay player for free?

That is the whole plan for the extended warranty :cheesygri

They dont have any specific model listed..since its still pretty far off..but they will replace it with something within this players price range. It states on the receipt clearly HD/Bluray extended service plan..so if they dont have any hd players left they would replace it with bluray player

2 things....

1) you can buy the player for $100 and the service plan for $20 from FS, with that you get 2+5 free movies
2) you should read the Terms and Conditions
Full Replacement Guarantee
If your product is found defective under normal usage, we will provide a replacement credit so you can purchase a new one.
So I suspect you would get $100 toward the purchase of a new dvd player of some kind, blu-ray or other.

to answer ur question:
1) you can still hardly find a player for $100..they still retail for $150 + taxes. But anywayz I have dropped my price to $100..since I want a quick sale :cheesygri The 5 free movies that u get are crap and with so many people that are trying to get rid of their HDDVD's...you can now buy the movies for about $10 and get the CHOICE YOU WANT!
2)Yeah..i know that u would get $100 towards the choice of ur player..but in 2 yrs bluray players should be around $150 price point and so even if u buy this player now...u are basically future proof :D

I am not going any lower than $100. I would rather keep this player than sell it at a lower price since i know in 2 yrs i will be getting my $100 back

Yes this IS a GREAT thing indeed and this dvd player is awesome
HOWEVER warranty is not a always a sure replacement.
they always try to repair it first.

- in the case if it's repaired >3 times
- if cost of repaire is greater than replacement
- or if they take over 60 days to fix it
THEN they will replace it for another comparable unit (say blu ray in this case as they might not have any other HD DVD players in 1.5yrs)
ohand it's for UP TO the value of which you've originally purchased yours at.

So if you paid $99 and blu ray cost $150 you'll have to pay extra $50.
Now don't get me wrong, this is a great thing as your initial investiment is fully protected but is not a staright swap as some might think !
