Anyone know where to buy these locally in toronto? somewhere that has stock preferably....i ordered some from 2filter but looks like they wont get here before my trip on friday (stupid customs)........

Henrys has lots of Cokin square (http://www.cokin.com/ico2-p1.html) filters.

No clue if it is national, but my local future shop had virtually all their filters on clearance, for $5 each.
I saw the display and a guy grabbed a bunch of them in front of my eyes. I only managed to pick up a few ND filters :(

if you can get shutter speed down to the few seconds range you can use a dark cardboard to block the light passage (think of reverse automotive projector headlight optics), do this as a fraction of exposure time and you will have graduated effect
