The fine print:
- Purchases made from the customer’s registration date until December 31, 2008 are eligible to receive Double Points on the participating products.
- Regular Optimum Points will be awarded automatically.
- The additional points will be awarded on the 7th day of the following month in which an eligible purchase was made, ending on January 7th, 2009.
- Points are issued according to the net pre-tax total, using a valid Shoppers Optimum Card.
- Excludes Bonus Points and products not eligible for point collection.

This will be going out by direct mail this week to 200,000 Optimum members, not via e-mail. As part of the package, there will be 28 bonus Optimum points coupons included (one per brand). There will also be bonus points coupons in the April and September issues of Glow magazine.

You should also start to see in-store promotion of this program soon, if it isn't there already.

Take your Optimum card to the cashier and ask them to scan the coupon with your card that sets you up for this offer.

The cashiers have the bar code at their cash register. It only takes a second to scan the barcode and the card to set you up.

He has a very good point here. You don't see BestBuy points for Dads. What about the women out there that are the bread winners or only working parent. Does it not offend you that you are still relegated to a stay-at-home type stature?
