bridesmaid dresses - purchase or rent?

i think there's a store by Bathurst and Sheppard that rents wedding dress and bride's made dress for cheap prices ...

We ordered ours online. 2 dresses for $210 (taxes + shipping incl) from the states. The dresses were After Six or something (need to ask wife). It was only slightly more to buy the dresses - I think about $20 more. Took 3 months to make and ship the dresses.

For some reason, store prices (in Toronto) for the same dress were $200 more than what we bought EACH dress at online. Talk about gouging people!

For one of my cousin's wedding, she decided to buy bridesmaid dresses from an online retailer, http://www.torontodresses.com/bridesmaids.html. It was an absolute nightmare! The colours in real life looked rather different than the colours on their site, and the sizes were each at least a size bigger than they should have been. She had to spend a fortune on alterations, which defeated the purpose of buying cheaper dresses online.

a lot of brides are going to David's Bridal in Buffalo...they have nice dresses and i've heard they've got good deals...
