I paid about $215 for mine when it first came out a couple of years ago. I paid $168 for my Viewsat Ultra last month. $89 is a very good price for the Viewsat Xtreme. Great for n00bs that are just getting into FTA.

I must advice you guys to make sure that these are not clones unit. I have been sold clones before and now they are locked out and worthless.

Plus there's no mention on globalfta that they are a Viewsat authorized dealer.

I did buy my VS Xtreme about 1.5 yr ago. I paid $220 and I did not see any card reader on the recevier. It only has a slot. Do you think it is clone? We did buy 5 units and so far none of them has problem. Is it true the authentic VS Xtreme has card reader. Thanks.

Is the CW600S P the same as CW600S? That's the special I see on their web site.

I also presume that updating is by the includedl cable. Are there good units that update by flash drive that come close to this price?

I would make sure that the claim on their site is legit, that they are not clones... They are a company, if they are registered, I believe you would have some recourse, if they are advertising them as Authentic and not clones.

i had picked up a viewsat Ultra back in May from this store in person. at first, i was scared about the units being clones as well. so, i printed out a list of check that was up on viewsat to distinguish between clones and original and everything was fine. the unit has been working great as well. my Ultra has a card reader and the battery brand and all were as per the Viewsat checklist.

As for the guy who is waiting for an email reply, i dont the owner is too much of a tech guy. its probably someone who made the website and put it up for him. there should be a number on a website. just call him.

PS: ok, i think i was wrong about this guy's tech skills. he seems to have a ebay store as well. pretty good feedback as well. a lot of item have his store address listed in the description so i am 100% this is his ebay store and not just a similar name.

VS ultra is roughly 3x more expensive. VS ultra does let you program via USB stick though and support may be considered slightly better... but to be honest CW has really been on the ball over the last few months and sometimes they release files before VS.

I bought one from the store. It is normal for the boxes to be easy to open. ie. no plastic wrapping or anything like that.


This is the 2nd CW600p i bought from 2 seperate retailers and both were packaged the same.

The product is brand new, no doubt about it. I've had it a month now and its been working great.
