Why do girls draw eyebrows on their face?

I've seen a number of women who have absolutely NO eyebrows - they do, however, draw lines where their eyebrows are supposed to be (sometimes to the point where they come to a peak above the nose, making it look like they're angry all the time).

Why do some women do this? I doubt it's because they lost the ability to grow eyebrows (and even then...how'd they lose them?), it's something I've been seeing kind of often lately.

lol its cause some women/girls messed up there eyebrow's fixing them up themselves and see no point in going to the ***** eyebrow place and tryin to get it fixed when they see there's no hope or that it could be their eyebrow's grow to slow lol info from my girlfriend hahah.

I think a lot of girls pluck their eyebrows to make sure they aren't too bushy and ensure they are a nice, round curve.

But plucking is painful and eventually the girls get tired of all the plucking and zap off their eyebrows and use almost like a tatooing tool to etch on permanent eyebrows.

No hair, no fuss, no mess. Plus if they just left off the eyebrows, it would just look unnatural (though the etching of a permanent one is unnatural as well).

Oh sometimes the girls pluck so much that the eyebrows don't grow back!

girls draw eyebrows on their face because their eyebrows they originally had was removed by them because they thought it was ugly and they couldn't shape it.

some girls have really fine eyebrow hairs. they shape it, but when you look from far it looks like they have no eyebrows so they end up drawing it in.

i've seen some girls use eyebrow powder to shade it in and it looks really nice.
but i must agree, it looks stupid when they use a crayon to colour on their face.

hideous! i hate it. they remind me of CLOWNS drawing stuff on their face. can you imagine waking up next to a chick one morning and her eyebrows are gone? freaky to me. i'm sorry but it is.

Nothing like hearing a girl say "I have to draw in my eyebrows, before I can go out".
Me:"You have to what?"
Girl:"I have plucked out my eyebrows, so I don't have eyebrows anymore, so I have to draw them in"
Me:"Ok, do what you have to do" (thought inside my head: "This girl is weird!").

Some are just born with very thin eyebrows. Not because they are overplucked. As long as you draw them in naturally and blend well, it should not be a problem.

As for your question, yes, some older ladies I've seen used to overpluck, especially in the 60's I think or before and they've stopped growing.

Other reasons are,

To reshape
To make them darker/more dramatic/expressive
Naturally don't have them
Blondes w/no discernable eyebrows
Some natural redheads do this too.,,,,

There's a girl in my human rights class - she's a red head. She draws on her eyebrows. It's not just the fact that she draws them on, but she draws them on very finely, and she does it in a way that it makes her look angry ALL THE TIME. She looks ridiculous and completely hideous. Even if she was attractive before (which she wasn't) there would be no way I'd even go near that if I was single.

I have seen many many women, 99% of which still had their eyebrows. Assuming it isn't from over plucking, how the heck does this happen?

Also, don't these women realize how completely idiotic and unattractive they look?

My wife always points out when folks dye their hair blonde but leave their eyebrows dark. It's kind of worse when they actually paint dark eybrows on. Good lord, what are they thinking?

The other day I was plucking my eyebrows and I went too far... so now I have to wait a few weeks before I can properly pluck again - in the mean time I will just have to be happy looking suprised lol...

some girls tend to "over-pluck" & the hair doesnt grow back...its better to shade in the brows using a brush & the proper make-up. the point is to make it look sutle(sp) & not obvious like when they DRAW it on,,just looks horrible. >:( or should i say...*****-able
