hi, my fellow RFD'ers if u have noticed or not that WINNER's has been in stock of Nudies. I have seen alot of different washes. Nudies, is considered a upcoming RAW demin brand, and is finally getting noticed. DO YOU THINK HAVING THESE AT WINNERS DOWN GRADES NUDIES?

I've seen Nudies, 7, Diesel, Energie, Citizen and other premium brands at Winners. Do you think that will make those brand downgrade?
No.

winner basically just take w/e cant sell and sell it. You can find some treasure in that store for cheap. Most of the time it lacks my size, which sucks. Lots of selection for L -> XL, hardly any good selection of Small or Medium.

I don't buy DKNY from the store because it is sold so often in Winners. I think being sold in Winners hurts brands - you rarely see nice stuff there.

completely disagree. i buy a lot of my shoes at winners and i've purchased brands such as nine west and puma...i've occasionally seen Prada and Versace shoes there as well (albeit at prices I still can't afford)...
i don't think being sold at winners affects a brand value at all...however you do have to have the energy to search the nice things out because there is a lot of crap there also.
i also find that selection at Winners locations in areas that don't have the population density of the GTA often have much better selection (e.g. Waterloo, Peterborough)

while i believe in 'go big or go home' when it comes to car-modding, clothing i don't necessarily agree...

They sell overstock...
They sell seconds (some will say right on the label)
They sell last years stock that could not be sold
In the past I have picked up great shoes for cheap...jeans for cheap...great dress shirts cheap...
if you go in looking for a particular colour or style...they you may not find what you want...

Downgrade brands? Hahah....you must not know how Winners operate.
Winners buys and resells everything. Mostly form stores that have closed down and had to pawn off their remaining merchandise and overstock items. So it's no surprise you'll find some gems there.
Why would it downgrade the brand? If a store is closed for good, they buy everything off their hands for dirt cheap. It's not like the brands themselves chose to be sold at Winners.

If they were to have them regularly, then I think it may "downgrade" the brand, but not if its only once in a while.

Browse the liquidation sections only to get the best deals. I always wondered why they were called Winners, especially when the items didn't sell the first time.:D

I think it depends on the Winner's store location. The one at Markville Mall sucks but the one near Bay & Bloor has a good selection of bags --> bagwhore xD

To say that any brand gets "downgraded" because it is sold at Winners is ridiculous. If you really think that this is true, don't wear: D&G, Gucci, Armani, CK, DKNY, Ralph Lauren, and the list goes on as they have all been sold at Winners. Essentially, according to your logic, you shouldn't wear ANY of the major designers as all of them have been downgraded.

Exactly.
People pay a premium for brands because of exclusivity.
If all of a sudden a particular brand is widely available and at a significantly lower price, all of the people buying the premium product will disappear and find another brand to spend their money on.
Take any higher end brand... Nudies, True Religion, etc and imagine all of a sudden Costco, the Bay, or Winners starts carrying a small but constant selection of these brands at a lower price. Even if its not the exact same product, people wont want to pay $300 for a pair of jeans when someone else is wearing the same brand for $100. Thats how it works with premium fashion brands.
If they were to have them regularly, then I think it may "downgrade" the brand, but not if its only once in a while.

Thing is, most things that are high end and sold at Winners are really really ugly, so it doesn't really matter at that point.

Actually no because I've spoken to some people at Winner's who tell me how NEW their stuff is ... lets just say it's not "last season" ... more like, what's currently in the designer stores for the designer labels. They can't advertise it, but that is very much the case.

the nudies at winners are either the cheaper ones like the ones that aren't as high quality denim. or they're really awkward sizes that no one wears
and for 99 dollars, you could add 50 bucks and get your choice, when they're on sale
and as for it lowering the status of the jeans i don't think so, they also sell g-star and earnest sewn at winners and those brands are still going strong
and on that topic anyone know where to get earnest sewn for a good price? like over the rainbow has them but they don't have much variety and i only saw a pair that i kinda liked for 260 so i don't really think buying them because i have no other choice for that price is justifiable

Just a heads up...
Winners markville has two 28x 32 nudie slim jim black blacks, these arent the raw ones, just black black... thier 75 dollars right now, so if anyone wants to pick em up for resale, hurry.
Winners @ highway 7 has a bunch of diesel slammers right now

i also find that selection at Winners locations in areas that don't have the population density of the GTA often have much better selection (e.g. Waterloo, Peterborough)
That being said, they also target their mechandise to the local area. The Winners in Leaside will have a different selection than the winners in Ottawa or Brampton (and yes, I have been to them all).
Each region will often have to discount what other won't. I boua thgt a Maple Leaf Jersey in Ottawa for my son - 5 dollars which had originally sold at winners for 35$...they had sold out in Toronto at full price.
