Hey, Does UT accept repeat course(math)?

UT said they never accept repeat course on University Fair,, however, I phoned UT counsellor yesterday , but they didn't give me a clear answer, and just keep saying" We will censor and consider your case specifically, then make a decision." ×&……×（%……

So can anyone tell me how is UT going to evaluate it?

It all depends. I remember the year I applied, people were saying that universities will most likely look at your first attempt at a course.
Unless you really improved, they might make a special case for you and it also depends on what courses you're going into that's math-intensive.

as far as I know, they will look at your situtation individually, but unless the rest of your grades are really good, you shouldn't hope for any 'exceptions' to cutoff points... they'll probably look at your first attempt's grade.

Do they consider you ECs as a part of it as well?? or just take a look my other course and then make a decision.

as far as I know, they will look at your situtation individually, but unless the rest of your grades are really good, you shouldn't hope for any 'exceptions' to cutoff points... they'll probably look at your first attempt's grade.

If I took chem and got 87, and took it again just for interests sake and got like a 95, it can ONLY help right

I called and asked teh same thing, and they said that they will look at the second attempt, but they'll also hold the first one against you. By that I mean If you got an 85 the second time, anybody with an 85ish and above will get in before you. Possible people with a lesser mark as well becasue you took it twice. Thats what the councellor said to me. Since people matched your second mark the first time, they get priority.

If you repeat a course they take your repeated mark; however, they subtract either 4% or 6% from your overall average (the best of your six courses).

However if for example if you are applying to engineering and say they look at your calculus marks and you did poor and repeated they are more inclined to not do that 6% thing I mentioned above since that course is very vital to the underlying program.

like there is no difference if I got 60 first time and then got 90 second time..

BTW, like UT commerce requires 2 math(function and vector)
If I get 70 in function and then get 90 in vector in private school, can I still get in?

because what I heard(from my friend) is that the minimum requirement of math is 75.
I am not sure they are going take the 2 math avg or look at them individually,.,

Also UT didn't give me a detail about the requirement of math when I phoned them, I guess the most important reason is because Ontario change the gr. 12 math course this year, so they can't decide the math cut off line yet.

I am wondering where you heard this from

If you take it the first time and get a 65, then take it again for a 70, then they won't be impressed.

A significant improvement (probably over 10%) is what's going to help.

damnnnn. I only get 60 in MHF4U1 this time. However the rest 4 couses avg is like 91.. can i still get in UT commerce? ( if i retake math in private school and get 90)
