You won't get as close a shave as with a razor, but it does give less skin irritation because you're shaving less closely.

I find electric shavers to be painful, especially if you don't shave daily. I only use mine if I shaved earlier in the day or the night before and I have some extra shadow that is showing after a few hours. Otherwise it's painful. The blades are sharp seeing as I don't use the shaver often (its a year or so old) so thats not the problem.
After a shower, with shave cream and my Gilette Fusion is still the best shave IMO.

if you have a lot of facial hair then you should use a razor or else you'll have to clean out your electric shaver every day for best results, which is quite time consuming. i like to use electric cause i dont have much facial hair and only need to shave once every 2 days so its more convenient that way. but i have some friends that likes razors because they give really close shaves that electrics can't.

Electric razors are fine, they work pretty good and don't irritate the skin. Many are pretty much self cleaning, or very simple to clean. You don't need shaving cream or anything either. Its not as close a shave as a blade, but its much quicker and more convenient.

I switched from blade to electric about a year ago. I found that the little red bumps on my neck disappeared. The shave is pretty close, but not as close as shaving with a blade, but in my mind for the comfort it's much better to use electric.
I have a wet/dry razor so every morning after shaving I remove the foil, rinse the blades and then stick the unit into the cleaner. Every morning the shaver is cleaned and ready to go.
But, I have to say that blade shaving with shave oil is a lot more comfortable than shave cream. If I would have discovered shave oil prior to buying the electric I may not have made the switch to electric. You may want to try a $5 bottle of shave oil prior to spending money on an electric.

I always found electric more painful and irritating then a blade. My skin is also pretty sensitive..but gillette fusion is what I use now and doesn't bother my face at all.

I use electric plain and dry.. but then again, I'm a pretty hairless asian.
Electric is convenient, fast and promotes laziness. Yay.
