Hi, I'm looking into buying a MAC, but I need the full functionality of a lot of windows programs, I don't want to use crippled hardware when using boot camp...

Based on the stuff it says on the apple website, it seems like there is no compromise between the speed/usage of your hardware.... what do you guys think?

I am considering buying a macbook myself and any information about bootcamp and how it runs would be appreciated from myself as well.

Run Parallels Desktop or VMWare instead, so you don't have to leave MAC OSX to run the Windows software.

If you're buying a new Mac, it will be fast enough for whatever software you're running; just max the RAM.

Say I buy a C2D 1.6ghz with 2gb ram on a Mac and I run Vista...

How much of a performance decrease am I looking at vs. a native windows running computer with C2D 1.6ghz 2gb ram

If you're running Boot Camp, there is no difference: the Mac is made of PC parts now. There is no speed hit.

Wow, so then what was all the criticism about boot camp in the past about?
