you need to buy a video out cable for the iPod. Can't provide a link since I don't have any experience with them so I can't suggest a good one to get other than the Apple brand which would be more expensive.

2. Buy cable to connect iPod to TV.

Not DVD quality, but it's not that bad on a TV out.
