Disabling CPU/system fans?

I just installed the Scythe Ninja plus revision b heatsink and I want to go fanless to cool down my 5200+ in a p182 case. However, I keep on getting errors about fan failure and won't let me boot my computer. Is there a way to disable the MB from checking the fans when booting up? It makes sense that HP would lock it down so you can't disable it. They don't want you messing with anything that could possibly damage the system. In a "normal" BIOS you can disable it in the Hardware Monitor section (where it shows fan RPM, temperatures, etc.). Another reason to build your own.

If there's another fan in the system, you could try plugging that into the CPU fan header.

Agree with Amourek .... In case of your case fan is not a super powerful one (unlikely), you can plug that into the CPU fan header to 'fool' the BIOS .... provided your case fan has 3 wires ...

I think the bios should let you hard lock the cpu fan to a specific rpm
If you dial the rpm to the lowest possible you won't hear it at all
on a modern cpu i wouldn't go completely fanless
