Hi there,

I recently changed ISPs and now I am with an ISP that leases Bells lines. They have given me a Speedtouch 546 modem, but all of the guides/userguides as to how to configure the modem will not work. I try entering in the 'default address' to access the models html files and it wont work??? What I am trying to do is disable the firewall in it (its a modem/router).

Thanks

try 192.168.1.254, in order to access the admin. page
I ran into the same problem when I received my modem from Teksavy, there was no user manual nor instructions included

can you get to the modem's config page?

No I cant, i type in the 'default' addresses and nothing happens. I've tried several addresses including the ip address that appears using ipconfig.

What is your local IP?

open a command prompt and type ipconfig and see what the IP is for the default gateway then use that in IE to access the admin page. If that still fails do a hard reset on the modem, look on the back of the modem for a pin sized hole and press a pin or something in it and hold for 15 seconds and then retry ipconfig and use the default gateway number in IE making sure your cables are connected properly.
