Can't D/L Windows Live Messenger

Have tried this on to separate laptops from my wireless connection. It starts downloading and gets to 90% and just stops. I NEVER have problems d/ling ANYTHING else including torrents, etc. Speed is always fast. Any insight would be greatly appreciated as this is very frustrating!

Try using different sources like download.com or windowslive.com

are u by chance using firefox or something other than IE? i noticed i couldn't download a few things using FF, but had no problems with IE.

I'm using IE... but that's interesting... because trying to d/l from this site works with FF but NOT IE! Go figure!

that worked, but only version 8.... the installer on live.com is 8.5. I just don't get why it won't d/l completely... i know other people have zero problems getting it.
