Curious, does it take a special skill or machine to alter leather jackets?

I have an Isaac Sellam leather jacket I've been taking around to a few places, and they all told me that they either don't have the skill to do it or don't have the equipment to do it... the last place said it's due to the way that specific jacket is put together at the seams, I think.

Yes, only certain places will alter or even clean leather. It requires different machinery I believe, so it's very expensive to have done.

Try a furrier, or a leather shop on Spadina. Many manufacture their own coats and may be able to assist you.

I used to date a furrier, and he alterered many a leather jacket/skirt/pant for me

Danier does it, at least the one in Mississauga, and I'd trust them, for obvious reasons.

I thought Danier only alters their own jackets, though?

Anyone have a reliable place they've used before?
