View Full Version : My in-ear headphones just "popped" in my ears

So, it's late and I'm listening to music like I usually do on my laptop with my Creative EP-630 earbuds. Suddenly, the left earbud loses sound and I hear strange static with a bit of screeching instead. I pull the plug out and put it back in. It works fine for about a minute, then I get static again in the left earbud for about 5 seconds. Then I hear a pop, not a loud one even, and at the same time, I actually feel it pop in my ear as if someone shocked me lightly in the ear. What the heck!? Is that even possible? I'm kind of iffy on whether I should keep using this thing.

No, my ears were not wet.

It's going to blow up in your ears.

I would avoid using it since it is defective.

Did you get them off of ebay or from Best Buy?

I once had a set that would give me a slight electrical zap if bassy notes were hit.

I hated them so much.. but it was an interesting conversation piece at gatherings.

in-ear headphones isn't that an oxymoron?

Sounds like a lose wire....I wouldn't take a chance of using them....suggest you return them.

Good luck.

yeah I would toss them. Though I have been using mine with my mp3 player and no problems.

I had a hands-free telephone set that I bought from HK once. Thing was pretty cool, it had an earpiece and cord and then a minature keypad thing you plug the earpiece and telephone cord into.

After a few months of use, the thing would shock my ear. Figured it wasn't good for me and got rid of it.

I had one of those, it was awesome for long conversations, I don't know what happened to it

Got it from BestBuy. I thought this one would last longer than my old Creative Aurvana which lasted about 3 months till the wire started to rip. >:(
