hi,

I just figured out how to setup dial up internet on my new laptop last night and I was wondering how do I make a shortcut of the dial-up connecting icon to the desktop? instead of me going to start and connect or go to the network icon at bottom tray (icons beside the time on toolbar) all the time to connect

I have Windows Vista

1. Click on the network icon in the toolbar.
2. From the pop-up, click on the link called:

Network and Sharing Center

3. On the left-hand side (under Tasks), look for the link called:

Manage Network connections

4. This will open a window called "Network Connections". Look for the connection you want to use, right-click and select "Create Shortcut".

Yes and No... I find it best not to pull the "Well XP isn't like this" and things seem to go easier. ;)
