for 989..
Is this a good deal? I don't know much about LCD's but am in the market for one. I've been having trouble finding one comprehensive threading outlining what to look for and what the best brands are.
Thanks!

Considering the 32" version of this is $699 at London Drugs, I wouldn't consider it a great deal. (See this thread (http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/showthread.php?t=541017)).

meh.. this is toshiba's lowest line of lcd tvs. Personally, I found the shadow details to be very poor. Considering the sharp lc37d43u has been on sale for 999 for a while now, I'd go for that. This model sharp doesn't have the banding problem that larger sharps do. My GF purchased one a few months ago and its an excellent tv

Why didn't you buy a TV a little earlier? I bought a toshiba 42HL67U at best buy for $999.

I think that's pretty close to list price. I bought 3 of them in Sept. at FS for $799 each on sale. They're decent tvs from a brand name mfg. Check out this forum: http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=154
At this size, don't pay an extra nickle for 1080p unless you're using it as a computer monitor!

I know I really should have started looking into this earlier when there were more deals to be had but recently I just felt like treating myself to a nice new tv. I'd occasionally like to use it to hook up to my computer and play tv shows from there but overall it'd just be for watching tv/movies.
Gotta do some more research apparently!
