View Full Version : Where best price for Yamaha RX-V1800 or HTR6190B Home Theatre AVR

I've settled on purchasing a Yamaha RX-1800 or HTR6190B AVR in Canada. Geez, those ebay prices from the USA look very enticing ($840 for the 1800 + shipping + both taxes + brokerage if UPS). But I'd prefer to purchase in Canada for warranty. From a province other than Ontario would save me the provincial tax too. Any suggestions for a store that will do better than $1112? Late November Future Shop had the 6190 for $999. Missed that.

Any suggestions? I'll be glad to call the store for follow up.

FYI both A&B Sound as well as Soundsaround in Calgary have the 1800 on for $998 right now (was looking at them yesterday).

Don't know if they will ship or not but might give you a little ammo on pricematching possibly?

Yamaha dealers can't sell outside their territory, so unless you find someone local, you're kinda SOL.

Glad I could help, but note it is the HTR6190, but the specs are identical and I have read on other forums that it is the exact same receiver.
