Regardless of its status as a lukewarm deal, I am still interested (hamstrung as I am by lack of effective time travel capabilities; I can only go forward, and then at only an excruciatingly slow pace, and not backward or side-to-side).
Does anyone have any experience connecting this monitor to a PS3?

It's primary purpose would still be as a monitor. Connecting it to a PS3 would just be a pleasant bonus.

Buying a 24" monitor would also give you a much higher resolution than the LCD TV when using it as a monitor. The TV would probably look great on your PS3 but it would probably look like crap compared to the resolution of a 24" LCD monitor when using with your computer.

I would love to build something like this...
http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/09/nec-has-their-own-2880x900-curved-gaming-display/
but out of 4 separate monitors and make it so I could flatten it out for movie/TV watching :) (much higher res)

Ah, but your ability to throw in an intelligent and funny, albeit sarcastic, comment remains at its peak!

Anyone here try the Acer X263WBI 25.5" TN monitor or seen it in person?
http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=10140MN9134&vpn=ET.GX3WP.001&manufacture=ACER
I am considering this Acer AL2616WD 26IN monitor which looks like a non TN panel. It as a Horizontal and Vertical viewing angle of 178° so it is most likely not a TN panel.NCIX as it for $612 but Canada Computers as it for $499 but it is OOS but you can still order it and they will ship when available.Looks like a decent deal.

Yeah.....dead pixels are always a concern when buying a LCD. Even though the Acer X263WBI seems pretty cheap for a 25.5" monitor the Acer AL2616WD 26IN monitor would probably be the better monitor between the two due to it having a VA panel it looks like.

Here is a website for comparing 2 monitors head to head for such things as viewing angles and other various stuff. There are quite a few monitors listed there but not all of the newer ones are listed.Nice if you want to see what the viewing angle of a monitor is like compared to any other monitor you may be considering buying.

BB is currently selling this monitor for $399:
http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10093979&catid=22559
so you can PM against Staples and then apply the $50 off $350 coupon. Staples is selling the monitor for $469.95. So you get it for $392 - $50 or $342...
