I'm hesitant to order from Dell just in case there is an issue with the system. Anything going on at the brick/mortar stores?

PM the Dell package at the Futureshop at Conestoga Mall. I did that like a month back.

All you do is call in as politley as possible, ask to speak to a manager. Tell them that you saw this great deal at dell.ca but you would prefer to make the purchase at futureshop. Ask if they would be able to pricematch for you. Basically, your going to get all the extras for free. They even gave me the rocketfish HDMI cord ($80) for free.

If the person says yes, co-ordinate a time when you will be going in to purchase the system and make sure to GET THE APPROVING MANAGER'S NAME before you hang up the phone.

Worked without a flaw beforehand.

costco has an 80gb combo pack for $489 plus taxes
includes cables, remote and extra controller.

I make this dell "deal" as controller for $47, cable say $7, so console for $385. (Yes, Sony HDMI cable would retail for far more, but why bother?)

Better than current FS/BB but not by much. Think the rumoured BB Boxing Day sale of ps3 + LittleBigPlanet for $399 would be better - i.e. $399 - $60 = $339 for console.

(The ps3 180gb + uncharted seems to me to be a true non-deal since the uncharted game doesn't appear to get too high of ratings, and a DIY hard drive update would be far more bang for the buck.)

Thinking aloud, Best Buy Canada PS3 is $399 and Best Buy USA PS3 is $399. How long can this price parity go on with an 80 cent CDN dollar? Do you think US price drops or CDN price goes up? Me thinks s**t hits fan when CDN stores order new stock in about a month.

uncharted as a 88 metacritic score.. ie 88/100 when u average all of the critics on the web..uncharted is a great game... one of the best i have palyed for the ps3... action.. adventure.. decent story.. amazing graphics.. its really good...if u feel u need 80GB more harddrive.. then look around for a decent uncharted bundle deal.. maybe <500 would be good but who knows.. but ya.. before boxing day.. all of the deals are done.. the eb games deal when u buy a ps3 and get ur choice of 5 games is done i believe.. but u can always call them and find out..

I agree... Uncharted is supposed to be a pretty good game. The best deal for a PS3 console is the Best Buy boxing day deal. Even if you don't like LBP, you can trade it for something else you like or sell it for about $40 to lower the price of the console.

The worst deal is the Uncharted 160GB PS3 Bundle. Since the console doesn't come with any additional functions like the old 60GB model or the 80GB model included in the MGS4 bundle, it would be a waste of money to buy. You could simply buy a regular 80GB model for $399, and upgrade the HDD yourself to whatever you want. I ended up paying another $80 to upgrade mine 320GB.

Uncharted is one of the top games on PS3. The bundle still isn't worth it though. You missed all the good deals by a week. Check out Boxing Day. At least you'll get Little Big Planet.

I missed the EB games deal by two days..they still have the deal for $399 but the games are Little Big Planet or Resistance 2.

Hopefully there are better deals next week.

I only checked Gamespot ratings where MGS get 10, LBP gets 9, Uncharted a lower 8. Mistakes? or difference of opinion. Are you on your periods?

Are you on your periods?Low scores on GameSpot just means Uncharted's marketing budget was lower than Metal Gear Solid. Just because Sony didn't have as much money to give GameSpot as Konami doesn't mean it's a worse game.

Also, use your own opinion instead of one reviewer's. Especially one reviewer who was probably afraid of getting fired if his opinion didn't fall in line with how much money the top brass got.

Sony Store has 80 gb plus extra controller for $424.99. They say $399 plus extra controller for half price. I guess its OK if you really need a PS3 before Christmas.

Noticed the Nyko remote at BestBuy Canada for $19.99 under Playstation 3 Accessories. (doesn't come up when you search for "nyko" however).
