I'm a first time parent and I didn't grow up in a place with a cold enough winter ... here are some of my silly questions:

What is the difference of snow bibs (overall pants with strap over the shoulder) vs snow pants (just up to the waist) vs snowsuit (1 piece top to toe?) ... I'm thinking to get one (since these things are on sale now) for my daughter for next fall/winter as she will be in daycare and have to go outdoor to play daily. So, if not planning to go on a ski trip, then which one to get for a 2-year-old? The daycare said parents need to prepare snowsuit for kids to go outdoor to play in the winter ... but I think snowsuit is for babies (since they don't walk?) and once babies walk, they wear snow jacket + snow pants? Or snow jacket + snow bib? So, the snow pant/snow bib is worn on top of regular pants? And the staff at daycare will help the toddler to wear?

Hi there. I have bought my daughter, who is now 2, a snowsuit which is a 2 piece. I think the snow bib that you mention, is actually the lower part of the snowsuit. In my opinion, a 2 piece is much more practical as it seems to be easier to put on and take off with a toddler.:D I have found that my little girl doesn't put up much of a fuss with the 2 piece suit. She actually enjoys putting it on with an adult's help. I haven't heard her daycare person complain that it is difficult to put on her. The only thing is, I bought her a larger one, as since she is growing, and the pants go over the boots, it only seemed logical to get a larger size to accomodate her for the entire season, and maybe into early next winter season. Good luck!;)

As a parent of 3 kids that absolutely loved the snow and still do I'd be looking for a snow suit for a 2 yr old. The main advantage is that they are relatively quick and easy to put on and the kids don't get the dreaded snow up their back. Typically you'll see small sized sets with the bib style pants and won't see snow pants (snow board style) till the larger sizes. The main thing with the snow pants and bib styles is that you need a longer style of coat to prevent most of the snow from going up their backs when they get crawling and rolling in the snow. All 3 options are worn over regular clothings by the way...

Thanks for all your explanations. You've been very helpful :)

Actually, I don't think I have seen snowsuits for over 12 months old. So, for the next winter, I picked up a snow jacket & the overall snow pants (bib style) for my then 24 months old. PleaseMom have the snow pants (like regular pants up to the waist) for 12/18/24 months. Well, I guess that's not really needed then as overall pants is probably better.
