well my semi-formal is coming up, and i'm looking for the perfect dress. I shopped around for a bit but everything seems too expensive! If anyone has a deal on a dress for cheap, i'd really appreciate it =) thanks!

you should try www.freecycle.org and the various cities/towns. I've seen lately alot of people giving away dresses they no longer wear. Post a wanted ad with your sizes and see what you get!

Otherwise, you should try the Fairweather Outlets - they generally have cheap dresses or Dixie Mall is great. For shoes, I HIGHLY recommend that you check out the www.sears.ca/outlet under footwear for women- they reduce the shoes all the time and can pickup formal or fancy shoes for anywhere from $10-$30 - great for one-time shoes.

A seamstress will run you about $200-$300 for a dress - most likely out of your price range.

If you goto the USA - JCPenny is amazing for cheap formal wear - I picked up dresses for $25 for my bro's wedding,
