Here are some job postings for blind people:

http://www.acb.org/acbjobs/index.html

Most blind people are not totally blind - they can still see something.

Calling a person blind is not that politically correct (if you don't know their condition). To be safe, always refer to someone as Visually Impaired.

Here are some of them saying what they do:

Also there is this school in Ontario for the blind, somewhere up north.

It costs like $10,000 a week or some crazy amount like that, but it's all paid by the government.

Not sure what the name of it is.

Ya that's probably the school. I heard the go home every weekend, all over canada, and the government pays for the tickets. During their math classes they have calculators that talk, but students never listen to other people's calculators to cheat.

That workopolis section isn't, it's just the standard workopolis domain.

My employer (major global corporation) has two visually impaired people where I work, one also being in my department. I'm not sure what they do (not an insult, I just haven't worked with them so I don't know their role), but they are the same pay grade as everyone else so they are either a business manager or a software engineer.

Growing number of people who are visually impaired are getting into the software development field (both coding and testing). Some schools are now providing various assistive technologies to facilitate learning as well.
