Futureshop has the Illico 4250 HD receiver for Videotron @ 169.00. The flyer prices it at $199.00 but it scans at 169.00. Picked one up last night in Laval.

I think I'd seen a videotron ad (maybe a bestbuy one too) saying that the final price was after a bill credit.

Well, the OP said it "scanned" at 169... so I would assume that's what he paid for. And, so, if it's your first HD receiver, you would also get the 50$ credit from Videotron.
Correct me if I'm wrong though..

There were no credits, I walked in picked up the box and paid 169.00. No questions were asked as to if it was for a new account or not. It is my second receiver so I'm quite pleased with the price and not worrying about getting program credits ...etc.

I had the explorer 3250HD for just over a year when broke (it keeps rebooting every 5 minutes or so). No more warranty and Videotron says nobody can fix it. God I hate calling Videotron.
Anybody knows a repair man in the Laval / Montreal region.
Thanks

Do you have the Scientific Atlanta or the Pace model?

Somehow I'm getting regular cable in my apartment thru videotron at the moment and I haven't paid for anything. Is this normal?
If I buy this HD box, will I get HD automatically? Will I need to do anything to configure the box? I helped my mom get one thru the Rogers Buy HDTV Get HD Digital Terminal for free and the only HD channels are thru 500-540.
Thanks!

You will have to call videotron and have them activate the box (and of course pay them). There is no other way.

You can get this box cheaper if you are in the process of buying a tv at the same time. I purchased this box for 99.00 to go with my TV.

It's a scientific AtlantaThanks. Sorry, it was my bad, I should have followed the link to see it was SA and not Motorola. I'll admit now it was a stupid question, but I appreciate the answer.

The illico hd box is often on sale for cheaper. Usually right around this time of year also, just before the superbowl. Picked up the pace version from FS right before the superbowl for just over 100$ if I remember correctly
