Excellent job with the OP.

I noted some of the prices are now higher than the deals thru Outpost/Frys and J&R before xmas. That sucks.

If anyone ordered titles before, (even on the BOGO sales) call in to get them to credit you the difference if it was within the last 30 days. They have a price guarantee. I got back $40 for 5 minutes of work with the HD DVD BOGO titles I bought over the holidays that are now cheaper.

I just noticed the shipping cost is basically the same price as tax (and they don't
charge tax). Is this because tax is included in the shipping?

I remember reading somewhere about a forum that rated all BR movies based on picture quality. Does anyone have the link to that forum?

Saw the deal yesterday....did not post it because I did not think it was a good deal. I ordered about 30 Blu-Ray's with the last BOGO deal, and all the movies came out cheaper with that deal.

With shipping, this deal becomes a bit cold!

I've read from previous Amazon.com DVD sales that there are no duties and taxes because these are shipped from Canada. Do I have to use the standard shipping option or is the expedited international shipping duty-free and tax-free as well?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

ALL orders bought on amazon.com are shipped from the States. However they are first shipped to their Canadian warehouse in Mississauga, and then shipped to you.

You avoid duties and taxes, but that's why you're stuck with a high shipping rate. I just bought 3 Blu-Ray's for $46, but shipping was $16. So it came up to around $20/disc.

That runs the risk of getting hit with customs fees when you cross the border though. Duty plus gst/pst. if you ship directly from amazon.com, you'll almost never get hit with that since they ship to a warehouse in ontario before relaying it to your address.

in BOGO u wont get close encounters for 24 dollars, u wont get spiderman collection for 43 dollars etc etc....n e ways i got:
aviator= 20
close encounters= 24
pirates 3 = 20
closer= 14.5
black hawk down =14.5 (niiiiiice price)
hellboy =14.5

in total with expedited shipping= $132, which means in total $21 per movie, thats sick coz u dont pay tax on that!

Only a few i spotted are actual good deals compared to whatever i can find here: Enron, Dragonball and obviously the Spiderman Triology. Rest were better in the BOGO sale or if you're savvy enough, you can PM BB or FS to sigelectronics for some blu-rays and get them cheaper.

This list is definitely bigger than the BOGO list but pricewise not as good. Oh well.. still better than paying full price here on selective rarer titles :cheesygri

Snagged a few off here, mostly the movies that are really hard to find in Canada (district b13, and the company). Some other REALLY hard to find blu-rays in Canada are Silent Hill and Memento, which i noticed were both on there as well.

Would have grabbed some more, but still have soooo many movies to watch.

How long does the shipping take if I chose standard ? it says estimated for February 4, 2008

I live on the west coast and it usually takes about 2 weeks for me to get it. If you're in the east it might be faster b/c they ship out of their ontario warehouse.

I am pretty sure that they are not first shipped to Sauga based on your US orders. I placed my order last time with BOGO and I got notification of shipment two days later and received it 2 days later. This time around I placed the order yesterday and got notification of shipment today so we will see when it gets to my door but I suspect it will be only a matter of 2-3 days again.
No matter... as long as we do not end up paying taxes and duties and get the shipment fast who is to complain :)

BTW Thanks OP
PS I canceled 3 of my DVDs as I am picking them up from SIG Electronics for just a little less

For the people complaining about shipping, just think of it as taxes. If you bought it from amazon.ca, you would be paying taxes on your order. So just make sure you order enough so that the shipping cost is equal or less then the taxes you would be paying

Better selection than the BOGO offer. Definitely thinking about getting a few titles with this new offer.

Really? You can do that?

What # did you call?

I have some money to be credited if that's the case.

Thanks

I dont even know why people are complaining. Its cheaper than any retail outlet or online site in Canada. We are lucky that we can shop from amazon.com and they dont direct us over to the amazon.ca site prices.

if people are complaining about 2-3 bucks extra, then perhaps blu-ray and hd dvd is not within your budget and you should stop buying and spend when your disposible income is higher.

Picked up Spidey plus others that I hadn't seen in the fall BOGOs. 9 discs total for under $20/disc. Hot deal. Thanks OP!

A little out of line don't you think?

You could have posted this message on any thread on this site.

Got Spidey Trilogy, Tekkon Kinkreet and Paprika. Shipping came up to $13.96...not bad for 5 discs.
Orders came in yesterday! As usual, no customs/taxes.
