Noticed while I was shopping at London Drugs on Davie Street
(1650 Davie Street, Vancouver, B.C. 604-669-5839).

That they had 2 boxed Bell Expressvu Packages. (and thankfully have a parking lot right next to the store with parking validation available for the cheap $1 parking).

Each box was $100 and contained 1 new Bell 3100 receiver and one Refurbished 3100 receiver (for 2 receivers for $100 TOTAL).

$100 for 2 receivers seems like a good deal and asked the clerk about them and found out they were "clearance priced" and that most stores no longer have these models.

Apparently the downtown stores don't sell as much ExpressVu receivers as other London Drugs (makes sense because many people downtown can't add satellite dishes to their apartments). The clerk said because of that they had some clearance model Bell receivers that most other stores sold off long ago.
They had some other clearance models receivers they wanted to put out as well but for lack of room they won't until they sell the 3100 models above.
As is, he said they both got found recently in their back lockup and moved them so they'd be more visible in the store. I go there every few weeks and had not seen them before...

So this deal is NOT AVAILABLE AT ALL LONDON DRUGS. Call the store # above to get one of these 2 receivers if they still have them left.

Do these receivers come with access cards? Also do London Drugs selling these require you to sign up with Bell there or just pay and walk?? :cheesygri

Can't believe I went to the store today and they still had 2 brand new boxes of the two-receiver units left.

The rep said you do NOT have to be a new subscriber to take these units, you can be an existing subscriber and get these 2 receivers as well.

(I have 5 receivers on my own Bell account, all purchased. I think on a rental account you can only have 4 total receivers).

Whenever you buy Bell receivers in a retail store though you have to bring your existing account information (e.g. account #) because the receiver has to get "registered" on Bell's system.

Does anyone know if it's possible to walk into London Drugs or Future Shop, Best Buy and walk out with the receiver without committing to a subscription on the spot?

This used to be the case............ ??
